  1. GD show 4 of 5 this year is over for me, and they kept getting better and better. Can't wait for the London Hyde Park show although it'll be the last one for me and that will make me so sad! The boys are SO on fire right now, it's surreal.

  2. Exactly! They have to make a live DVD of this tour, it would be a shame not to! And it's so great to see that not only us die-hard fans are blown away by their energy right now. I went to the Nova Rock festival with carsharing with a really nice couple and they had never seen Green Day before, they're usually more into Metal music. Then yesterday on the way back they said that they were still speechless and that GD was the best concert they'd ever seen and that they definitely wanna see them again. Totally made my day, it's always so nice to see the Green Day world growing

  3. That moment was so magical, I was there and it totally made me tear up It was so awesome. Every time I think I can't love them even more than I already do, they do something like this. Awesome.

  4. No, as I said in the Greenfield Thread, they were on fire at that show too, and I think Billie broke the smiling record of this tour at that show too. They were great in January and February, don't get me wrong, but my god they're fantastic at the moment. I hope they'll record some of it, they're at their best of this tour that's for sure... For me it's only two shows, but with the general atmosphere, feeling, happiness and good view (practically barrier) at the Greenfield gig, I really couldn't be any happier...

  5. I watched practically the whole Nova Rock show on youtube and totally get what you mean. All of the Rev Rad tour so far has seemed fun but the last string of shows have been so full of funny and beautiful moments. At the beginning of the tour leg I thought maybe it was an Italy thing as they've said they love Italy and the fans are pretty intense, but they're just really fucking enjoying themselves playing and interacting with fans, and it's so so so cute. It made me realise I'm just so indescribably happy to have 'found' them again when I did last year and to experience this era of GD right now when they're all so happy and perfect

  8. Here, at 2.15 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWjbKc4HXL4 I was a bit confused by her saying Billie stood on someone's shoulders, but wow, he actually did

  9. Yeah, I like it too, especially on Demolicious. It's not the best of their more political songs but I definitely like it, as far as lyrics go I'd definitely take it over Revolution Radio.

  10. It's cringeworthily melodramatic (like WMUWSE is) and also the characters are soooooo poseurish and hateable. I don't think of the characters in the song as awful poser emo kids and I'm bothered by seeing them portrayed that way

  12. Though I initially loved 21 Guns, I really don't listen to it anymore. I hear the opening notes and just quickly change the song. Also, I really dislike the WMUWSE video

  13. So i had my first GD related dream recently I dreamt that i was at a green day show, and they stopped in the middle of the show because billie joe started crying he gave a tearful speech saying that the band had wasted the popularity the gained from American Idiot, they could have been a great band but they haven't produced anything good since American Idiot so they wasted their opportunity He also said that he had run out of new ideas and simply couldn't think of any new music

  15. Omg, so much gold in here but this is too funny. This morning I was at the Armstrong house, I think Adrienne was there but it was just a bunch of random people. Then Joey and Max Becker showed up - for some reason I'd just put on my Warning hoodie on top of a Swmrs t-shirt and I didn't know which was more awkward to be seen in, so I was trying really hard not to look Joey in the eye. Max had brought a bunch of cheese(!) and I was making some vaguely suggestive/joking gestures towards him with a block of parmesan. What I shame I woke up at that point

  16. I don't know that I agree with the lyrics are better than Rev Rad, but I agree with the rest.

  17. Does anyone know if Idiot Nation announces pre-sale for concerts at the same time Green Day release its tour dates? My and my friends are kinda freaking out about not getting Pre-sale for the LatAm tour after renewing our memberships

  18. I just mean that type of song where the lyrics are somewhat rallying people to come together to challenge the political state of things, eg Know Your Enemy or Revolution Radio or Holiday. It's a song but like any song it's about something, it's about (and it supports) the Occupy movement so I'd put it in that category. I like it but I think they have better songs in that vein.

  19. I haven't watched it for ages but I just remembered the bit when he cuts his hand with a razor and does a blood hand print on the wall because self harm is sooo cool and cringed. I also love Nightlife. 99 Revolutions is OK but as their "rallying cry" songs go it's pretty low down on the list. It's also very out of place on the trilogy so I often don't feel in the mood for it when it comes on while listening to those albums, and for that reason it annoys me that the tour was named after it.

  20. I love Nightlife I don't get the hate for 99 Revolutions. Yes, the chorus is repetitive and it is most definitely not the best song Billie has ever written. But, I think it is fun and I find myself singing along whenever it comes on.

  25. Wow Longview has historically been my all time favourite (although Somewhere Now is now giving it a run for its money). I consider it to be an archetypal Green Day song that really epitomizes a lot of what I love about them. And the bassline is irresistible!

  28. I thought I was the only one to have a really weird dream about Green Day. I have read a couple of pages in this topic and wow! Some of your dreams are really weird and funny. Anyway here's mine: I had the dream back in 2010 or in 2011. At the time, I was working in a Zellers (the competitor of Wal-Mart in Canada). Anyway, I dreamed that I was at the job right before the doors opened to let customers in. Like always, we had the meeting with the boss at the customers service desk. When my coworkers and I arrived at the desk, our boss was there with Green Day. I was in shock to see the band in the store. My boss was telling us that GD will be in the store all day to visit and help us (wtf?). While he was talking, some of my coworkers who knew that I liked Billie Joe were telling me to go and talk to him. I was like «No way! I'm shy and I don't want to bother him!». Then, I realized that BJ was looking at me. So, I run away from the meeting and went into the shoes department. I don't know why, but all the shoes were on the floor. It was a total mess. So, I started to clean the area. A few minutes later, Billie Joe came next to me and started to help me picking up the shoes. We weren't talking, but he kept staring at me with a really serious face. I thought that he wasn't saying a word because maybe he tought I didn't know english (french is my first language). I finally told him «You know, you can talk to me. I have no problem with english.» He started smiling, then we laughed. From this point, the dream became weirder. While I stoped laughing, Billie Joe continued to laugh. He was now laying on the floor laughing like I said the funniest joke ever. He wasn't able to stop! I was looking at him and I was like «Ok, that's enough! Stop laughing! You're embarassing yourself! You know the security is watching you with the cameras right now?...» Then, some customers arrived and looked at us, Billie Joe still continued to laugh on the ground. I told the customers «He's alright. I have the situation under control!» (Clearly, it wasn't the case!) The customers left, but, then, someone was throwing shoes at us. We were getting hit and Billie Joe was still laughing and he was getting buried under those shoes. Then my cat woke me up. Weird dream... I'm pretty sure Billie Joe wasn't sober in my dream.

  29. it blows my mind everytime I see threads saying they would kick Ordinary World off REVrad if they could change the order or whatever. Everytime it comes on I feel like it is the perfect way to end the album. Not everything has to be punk rock

  31. Lol this just reminded me of when he wants to get the crowd to do a continuous hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooome at the end of Jesus of Suburbia (so he can then jump and play the "you're leaving, you're leaving" part and end the song). People never really get it and just go hoooooooome and stop and he has to keep trying to get them to carry on so the sound doesn't stop and it's a lot of effort. He kept at it for ages in London this year . Leads me to think you're correct about HAR, his commands must be obeyed!

  33. Another One! ------ I started out waking up with Adrian, Billie Joe and a really old cat (brendel colored). We'd gotten up because Adrian had to go to... somewhere. There were black and white clothes involved. After getting out of bed, I noticed Billie acting weird and touching his lower chest, so I ask him what's up. He waved me off, cause he was 'fine'. Which was bullshit. So I go lift up his shirt, and he's got the massive bruise running from his left nipple to his belly button. Me: what happened?! Billie: you hit me with that bike helmet. Me: when did I do that? Billie: last night. We were pretty drunk, but you sobered right up after you threw the helmet. Me: you're probably bleeding internally. So I made him lay down with Old Cat while I went to find ice. ------- Now I feel badly for hitting non-existent Billie Joe with a non-existent bike helmet.

  34. Last night I dreamt that I went to a Foxboro Hottubs show. When I got there, I realized you needed some kind of paperwork to get in (I guess because entry was so limited?) I saw Billie Joe walking around and I told him "this was gonna be my first FBHT show but I can't get in! I don't have my papers!" He was kinda a jerk, lol, he just blew me off and was like "I can't do anything about it!" next thing I know I suddenly have the papers I needed to get in. When I looked at it, none of the questions made any sense and I couldn't fill it out so I STILL couldn't get in. Then I was walking around outside and I saw someone I knew, who let me copy his answers and fill out my paperwork. I got into the show and even though it had already started it was AMAZING, of course

  36. I think it's different in that it is a standard punk album, and an angry one. The previous three all have poppier/softer stuff on them, vary more and are much less aggressive than the average punk album. Insomniac is the only Green Day album where they were in a really pissed off mood and wanted to show it, it was like "we'll show you how punk we can be". There's no other Green Day album that sounds like it and I value that in itself. Plus (it being Green Day) there is some different stuff on there, Panic Song as @DookieLukie mentions, and the almost heavy metal thing they did with Brain Stew. The pace is kept up throughout but there's super fast songs and more melodic ones, angry ones, depressed ones, sarcastic ones, and lots of different subjects covered. I find it a really interesting and awesome album.

  37. For me, Insomniac is perfect. I like all the songs, and think it's a great album. It's really surprising find out that many people don't like it.

  38. I also consider them a trio and always will. However, if just the three of them played live, their shows would change dramatically. Billie could not do what he does on stage without guitar help.

  39. By the number of posts I read placing 21CB in green day top 4, 5, or even as the best album, I guess it's pretty unpopular consider it my least favorite GD album? I don't think 21CB is bad, but I happen to like every other album more. Yes, including 1039, Uno Dos and Tré, Insomniac (easily), Shenanigans...
