I believe Tre is doing the drum tip videos for the sole reason of being able to say "just the tip" multiple times.6 points

There's definitely a sweet spot for support bands to hit. If they're not good, they won't help get people in the mood for the headliner and the fans won't engage with them at all - not good for either band. But if they're too good, it can make the headliner seem underwhelming - that may be good for the support, but shows that the headliner have picked poorly as ultimately the support is meant to boost them on tour, not take away from them. I had this recently when I saw Pierce The Veil supported by Creeper and Letlive - PTV put on an absolutely amazing set by most standards, but I just never quite got fully into it because Creeper, for me, absolutely stole the show. I know a lot of Creeper fans who actually left the show after the support. Yeah, that's testament to a great support band and a great thing for Creeper, but it didn't really work out for PTV who I struggled to enjoy as much as I normally would. I reckon the optimum point for a support band is one where the audience aren't singing along, but they equally aren't talking over the band. They should be a band you bob your head to and casually dance around, and sing a couple of lines of chorus or their one famous song. As a side note, I'm quite excited to see against me!, despite what I've heard here. Edit: I hit submit post by accident3 points

I would've preferred Against Me to The Interrupters. The singing/musicianship was good and they had loads of energy but wow did those ska songs all sound the same and have nothing particularly interesting about them. Also when they suggested making circle pits it was like lol I don't think so, you do realize staying in a good position for Green Day is everyone's priority don't you . Still grateful it wasn't Frank Turner again though.3 points

Hahahahahaa to all! My favorite thread reemerged and I always laugh my ass off on every one. Im telling you, I still plan on finding out the legal rights to the posts on here. A coffee table book to Green Day fans of this shit is a no brainer. Misheard Green Day lyrics are the funniest because of Billies purposeful often ambiguity in innuncuiation.3 points

This is exactly what I was trying to say, you just did it more eloquently.2 points

Not totally Green day related only 1/3 I guess. Made my morning. Was heading to Starbucks before work as I usually do. And the one I go to by my work has speakers outside. And I hear a familiar tune. LONG TIME GONE from the forevely album. Normally I probably wouldn't of heard it cause I have my headphones on usually. But because they're broken(waiting on new cord for them) I had hearing in one ear. Definitely made my morning after waking up with a massive headache. And dreading the day at work. Also the rainy weather.2 points

Sorry dear. I know nothing about them. I went to the concert with an open mind, but they were just not good in concert. You couldn't understand a single thing she sang and the instruments were just loud and distorted and I don't mean good distorted. It was just not good.2 points

I thought this until a few months ago, only found out when the Kerrang cover album came out and I heard Louise Distras singing it differently. Surely this is the most common misheard lyric then?!2 points

I always thought it was "run out of gas" until thins moment. Hahahahahaha! Jesus Christ.2 points

I really wanted to like them, being from Gainesville and all, but I couldn't get into them at all. Sound was muddy, kick drum and bass were way too loud, and sadly that made everything sound the same. But ultimately, I just wanted them to hurry up so we could get to Bohemian Rhapsody. Honestly I feel sorry for any band opening for Green Day when I'm in the audience -- just want to see my boys.2 points

I liked Against Me! set even if I only knew two songs, but the sound wasn't really good. It was kind of muddy(?) and I couldn't hear what Laura was singing or saying. I was scared it was because of the venue's sound system and that I would have to endure this for Green Day's full set, but happily, it wasn't the case.2 points

In "Nice Guys Finish Last" instead of "when you are the outcast", I thought he sang "when you are out of gas".2 points

In Boulevard, for the first couple years my ears would hear, "sometimes I wish I want a bear will find me", you know, Billie and that one of a kind vocal delivery and tone. Easy to misunderstand.2 points

Nice Guys Finish Last I heard the chorus as "Oh nice guys finish last, when you run out of gas" instead of what he was saying which was "Oh nice guys finish last, when you are the outcast."2 points

While I wouldn't say it's the worst Dookie doesn't wind up in the top 5 for my ranking but that could be because I have overplayed that album in the 90's1 point

Uno's my least favorite of the Trilogy. It is a bit higher on my list than last, but we agree it is the worst of the Trilogy. No ones opinion is laughable.1 point

I have a thing about not wearing concert shirts unless I went to the show. I may have been known to call people out for doing that in my younger, angrier past.1 point

They could definitely have a more well known opener and it wouldn't take away from their show, they can put 98% of bands to shame to be honest. A band you don't care much about gives you more time to prepare for Green Day though and gives a younger band that awesome opportunity. Against Me has done a great job!1 point

No I agree 100% with that. I will use a real example. I actually like some country music, don't judge me. Years ago I went to see a guy who was a very popular country singer, named Clint Black (phenominal voice, but I digress). Anyway, his opening act was a band called The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. I had never heard of them before and it was one of hte best concerts of my life. They had the entire crowd on their feet the entire set, which was long for an opening act, about an hour. Halfway through Clint Blacks set, alot of the audience started to elave. It wasn't that he was bad, it was that he was bad compared to The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. To this day, I have NGDB on my playlist and no Clint Black. It actually ruined what I saw in Clint Black. That was what I was trying to point out.1 point

Actually, I disagree with you on this. A headliner should never have an opening act better than they are. If the opening act is really good, there will be some interest, even if people haven't heard of them. I've been to several concerts like that and it definitely ruins the headliner. You are coming off a high from a great opener and if the headliner isn't as good it is a big disappointment. I know you were joking. I really wanted to like them, really.1 point

I think it is the most common but it really doesn't sound like when you run out of gas if you listen to it, when you are the outcast is quite clear. I think it's only because of it saying "nice guys finish last, you're running out of gas" in the first verse, when your brain hears "nice guys finish last..." again in the chorus it expects something about running out of gas next . And if you've also seen it the incorrect way on a lyrics site it doesn't help.1 point

A few weeks ago I was blasting KFAD, and in the heat of the moment I heard "King for a day, incest by dawn" instead of "princess by dawn" and I realized that it makes the song so much more twisted. "Started at the age of four..." Dear god1 point

My life was changed last week.... When I found out I had gotten the end of my favorite song wrong all these years. In jinx, I have always heard "Bad luck is hanging around you" instead of "I'm a curse hanging around you".....1 point
