The lyrics "remember to learn to forget" get me every time I listen to Before the Lobotmy because they way I see it there are two possible interpretations:
1) Remember something in order to learn to forget it
or, my personal favorite
2) "Remember you have to learn to forget" which in my head sounds as if it were written on a sticky note, like "hey, remember you have to try and learn to forget, today!". I especially love this interpretation because it’s telling you to let go of the past, but at the same time it acknowledges the fact that it’s not easy to move on, and treats the process of forgetting as if it were an exercise to be done daily, implying that it’s ok if you don’t succeed on your first try, because you’ll get better at it as time goes by.
I just hope the second one is not just a linguistic misinterpretation (since English in not my first language) and what I said actually makes sense
