Aww I love that line! "I wouldn't say I'm straight 'cause I'm bent out of shape", to me it's a statement of his sexuality, with a little play on words where he's also saying he's bent out of shape/up for confrontation. Say what you want about the rest of the song but I think that's a quality line, a bold and defiant statement.
Also, am I the only one who thinks Amanda would've been a totally kickass song if the recording wasn't so fucked up? Like, why does Billie sound like he's underwater? And why did they take out the cool intro riff, the catchiest part of the whole song? It's like they took each trilogy song and said "hey, let's suck the life out of each one before we stick it on the record."
The Trilogy has grown on me. I listened to Uno yesterday and to Tre today and liked both. I even liked Loss Of Control, The Forgotten and endured Sex, Drugs and Violence (it's not that bad, it you tune out the lyrics). I like the melodies and guitars, the way they were written was good. It was a right direction. The production still sucks, though. The person who came up with the idea of using reverb deserves a capital punisment.
Yup, I've only seen him on the 99 Revolutions Tour (Pittsburgh, March 31, 2013) and this past month in Cleveland for the House of Blues and induction ceremony.
All incredibly sober performances, but I love him all the same. I just have a bit of a fetish for drunkenness, I guess, being the lush that I am.
This YouTube video of Amanda live is seriously the best. The part where he's talking about people being a recurring dream in your life... and how Amanda is the girl from She, Whatsername and I assume Stuart and the Ave... and then he builds up this hype with the awesome riff and "naming the girl"...
... and then it turms into the shittiest studio version of the entire trilogy. </3
(Can anyone make out what the bridge is in this original version, before they stole it from Gabriella?)
