So I live in a small college town. St. Patrick's Day usually falls on our Spring Break so in an excuse to justify rampant alcoholism, we have "Fake Patty's Day". So everybody's outside, acting stupid and having fun. I have a delivery job I'm working so I'm listening to Stop Drop and Roll with my windows down because it's such a nice day. It gets to Alligator and I see a guy walk by in an alligator suit. We nod at each other and I drive off wondering if the universe has a sense of humor.7 points

I was just shuffling my Green Day playlist and See The Light just went into Scattered. Holy shit.2 points

I don't think there is anything skippable on AI. The album is pretty damn close to perfect.2 points

How can people skip st jimmy and when there's extraordinary girl and shes a rebel which are infinitely more skippable?2 points
-
St. Jimmy is high energy, with some really interesting lyrics. More importantly, it is a great intro for the most interesting character in the album.2 points

THIS JUST IN: Green Day may not have been sober during all their performances over the last 25 years.1 point

This. For me it's my favourite TV performance they've ever done. They all just look so happy, and there's so much energy in the performance, especially at the end. Kind of rekindled my love for the song as well, which I loved anyway.1 point

I love this performance of Letterbomb. Especially the bow at the end. Billie makes that guitar his bitch in last 45 seconds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27Jk0WPfPfA1 point

Anytime I've showed one of my friends a live Green Day performance they always mention how they're one of the few bands who sound almost as good as the album.1 point

I agree so much with this. I was talking about them the other day and my step-mom called them easy listening. I was like have you heard literally any of their songs (other than maybe 'Time of Your Life' whose meaning she probably misinterpreted ) I constantly catch myself thinking how powerful some of their lyrics are.1 point

Jesus of Suburbia can literally change my mood to anything. Happy, hopeful, sad, angry, nostalgic, etc. I don't think any other song can do that for me.1 point

Am I the only one who cannot make his brain process the fact that Dookie-era Billie and AI-era Billie are the same person? The difference is just astonishing.1 point

Sometimes I just fall in to a deep awe about how poetic Billie Joe really is. I don't quite understand how beautiful his lyrics are until I actually see them written down.1 point

Sometimes I just take a day every few weeks or so and just listen to purely Green Day music. Whether albums front to back or all their songs on shuffle and watch interviews and live performances on youtube. It brightens up that day and I'm always singing along to them every time.1 point

Its amazing to me, how all of these songs determine my mood, or help me when i'm in a bad mood. I mean, when i listen to other bands, i love the music. But Green Day are very different. There's so much more than just the music, its just epic. The lyrics never fail to move something inside me. And sometimes, when i listen to songs, i feel like im taking them for granted, so i listen to them again just to feel them. Its just so amazing, how their music makes me better. Not sometimes. All the time. And his hair, just so fucking awesome. If Tre was a woman, he would be the hottest woman on earth. I think that is an unpopular/random opinion.1 point
