Okay, they come back and play this encore: Stuck With Me Welcome to Paradise Basketcase Minority Brutal Love ....They played Good Riddance earlier in this show for some weird reason.1 point
-
Thank you! I was actually just coming on here to say that I figured it out through some weird thing that I might explain later. It's like the first verse, for anyone who's wondering how the chords are played.1 point

It's painfully easy for it to get stuck in your head. The lyrics are fantastic, the instrumentation is some of the best the band has ever done, and overall it's just a great song. Easily at the top of Insomniac for my and easily my favorite Green Day song. I'll defend the damn thing to death, Oh, and no hate towards No Pride or Stuart. Those songs are fucking awesome.1 point
-
I never thought about that with Stuck with Me, but you are right. It was their first shot at something a little more serious.1 point

I always forget just how much I like Westbound Sign until I listen to it, at which point I remember it's somewhere around the top of Insomniac for me, alongside Stuart and the Ave. Also I have to defend Stuck With Me, because it's got a good feeling of anger in it and is perhaps the first sign of Green Day getting somewhat political.1 point
-
Anyone who says Westbound Sign is bad/average/not fucking amazing is 100 percent wrong. The end.1 point

There's just far better material on the album. No Pride and Stuart and the Ave. are both more melodic, and, more importantly as far as a hit single is concerned, vastly easier to get stuck (ha) in one's head.1 point

That ending would cause me to storm the stage and demand Brutal Love and Good Riddance.1 point

Damn and I just figured out my ranking 10 hours of brainstorming wasted1 point

Babs' Uvula Who should be top, it's far and away the best song on there. Beyond that they're too close to call for the most part, which is why it seems like such a strong album.1 point

Really? I've noticed everyone hates Westbound Sign. TBH Insomniac is one of the few albums by Green Day that doesn't have a bad song on it.1 point

The version that they did with U2 really annoys me. Hurricane Katrina was very emotional for alot of people. I felt that Bono kind of stole the limelight from Billie and it should have been equal. It should have been U2 and Billie leading the song but once Bono came out he took over. Billie should have sang the "I am an American" line. Once Bono came out it became the Bono show and not a song to raise awaremess and emotionally and financially help the victims. Or maybe I just can't stand Bono.1 point

I don't give a shit about other people categorising me, I'll wear whatever I like - I've got tour shirts from 21CB and Trilogy (O2 Arena and Brixton), a 39/Smooth shirt and two Libertines shirts, so them, black jeans and a biker jacket are what I wear pretty much all the time.1 point
-
Band shirts are basically all I wear, I see no problem with it.1 point

I listened to what you sent. I really like them. I found them to be very dramatic, almost theatrical. I can see why they would be great live. There songs would translate very well to the stage. The songs were pretty intricate. I think I like their older stuff better than Only Revolutions, but that was good. I was partial to Paperfriend, 57, Whorses, but my favorite was As Dust Dances. Loved that one. But, I still like GD better. Thanks,1 point

She's even credited in the album booklet along with the additional musicians, "Dominatrix - Mistress Simone". Apparently they told the engineer who was her victim, Tone, that he wouldn't get a credit if he didn't do it1 point
-
I didn't like their first album, American Idiot, because they stole The White Stripes' colour scheme ):1 point

It was a Dominatrix there's a video of the making of Warning it shows the recording of that part lol1 point

That's a pretty good line. The lines end the same, but the play on words draws a nice contrast, which I think reflects the idea he's singing about.1 point

In FOD I used to hear "When it's all said and done, t's real and it's been fun, but was it all real mud," and thought it was a Woodstock reference. I wasn't up on my Green Day timeline at the time1 point

It was on ¡Tre! And Drama Queen was on ¡Dos! For some strange reason they got switched Maybe because Stray Heart is a cheap rip off of Mother Mary and since ¡Dos! Was billed as the Foxboroish album they decided to put it on it1 point

I made an account just to say what a great comment this is.1 point

I can't even get my head around the statement that Cigarettes & Valentines was never actually a song. What does that even mean? Was it a suspension bridge, or a hat, or something?1 point

She's sat on the couch next to me right now.1 point

For me it's Billie's vocal and the harmonica.1 point

It doesn't help that radio compresses recordings to buggery when Good Riddance is one of those songs that needs to breathe and have dynamic range to actually sound good.1 point
