  1. It's not really screamy though, more an angry growl. I like it, he did it in his own style so instead of sounding scary/menacing he sounds like his usual snotty self just extra wound up. If he'd tried to sound like he was in a death metal band or something it would've been silly but the way he did it fits him and the song.

  5. I always thought Take Back was a kind of toungue-in-cheek angry song rather than a serious attempt to sound like a death metal band.

  6. http://youtu.be/K7mIzSrNTRg?list=LLjZny_fTVahMfdE6IH3mLPA So last night I was watching videos from Green Day's show in England from 1993. I actually started tearing up at one point. It's crazy to watch them at a time they were so young and had no idea what was in store for them in their future. Now, they are inducted in the fucking Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I just love these guys so fucking much and i'm so proud of them.

  9. Top 10 Green Day Songs Not many bands or artists are fortunate enough to make it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with their first nomination. In fact, among the list of 2015’s inductees, there’s only one: California punk rockers Green Day. In the 25 years that’s passed since the release of their debut EP, ‘1,000 Hours,’ Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt have clawed their way from underground obscurity to mainstream recognition by way of some of the most infectious songwriting in rock. Here are 10 great songs that helped them get there. http://ultimateclassicrock.com/green-day-songs/

  11. He's always cute, but occasionally the songs are sucky. Take Back is one of the few.

  12. Nightlife. Yeah, I'm the one who doesn't like screamy vocals, so that explains it.

  13. wait you're the one that doesn't like screamy vocals, right? Well, with some people it doesn't feel good to hear stuff like that it's okay. I just think it's a silly song because it's like "awe looks how cute the Beej is, trying to sound all scary but failing" But I mean 7 years later I like death metal so...maybe there's the influence

  21. The Longview bassline captures the essence of the song perfectly. It is just as repetitive, brain melting and occasionally annoying as it should be. For the song is about boredom, frustration and repetition. So the bass part suits it perfectly. It isn't that spectacular when you take it out of its context but as it is it's perfect.

  22. Ah, Unpopular Opinions thread, oh how I've missed thee As for Longview vs. Sassafrass Roots - two great basslines which serve different purposes for two very different songs and can't really be compared.

  23. Nothing is superior to the bassline of Longview
