It's not really screamy though, more an angry growl. I like it, he did it in his own style so instead of sounding scary/menacing he sounds like his usual snotty self just extra wound up. If he'd tried to sound like he was in a death metal band or something it would've been silly but the way he did it fits him and the song.

It's crazy to watch them at a time they were so young and had no idea what was in store for them in their future. Now, they are inducted in the fucking Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I just love these guys so fucking much and i'm so proud of them.

The Longview bassline captures the essence of the song perfectly. It is just as repetitive, brain melting and occasionally annoying as it should be. For the song is about boredom, frustration and repetition. So the bass part suits it perfectly. It isn't that spectacular when you take it out of its context but as it is it's perfect.
