Am I literally the only person who actually really likes the ending? It's hardly the first time they've repeated one lyric ad nauseum and it's never been a problem before. I don't care if you don't, etc. Also Misery is easily one of their best songs.2 points

Doesn't stop it from being a boring melody with one lyric repeated ad nauseum.2 points

Of course DRB is shit lyrically and doesn't hang together. But that middle section's instruments make up for a whole damn lot, especially with Dookiefied guitars.2 points

When they do small shows they wouldn't need to worry about only selling tickets in advance as they will sell out in advance anyway. Plus when a lot of bands do these small venue tours they do multiple nights, in some cases they have played the same venue for over a week. Also at some venues, mostly those with a balcony have separate zones which allows for all ages but still have a bar open. So they are completely separate areas.2 points

I don't have a problem with Troublemaker - it's not their most sophisticated work, obviously, but it's not trying to be. It does exactly what it's trying to do, and it's a pretty fun song.1 point

DRB could make maybe three good songs. But as it is? Clusterfuck.1 point

Dirty Rotten Bastards and 99 Revolutions are great too.1 point

I still don't get everyone's issue with the trilogy. It was rushed and could have been much better, I'll give it that . . but in all honesty other than Troublemaker and Nightlife I like every song. Songs like Nuclear Family and Stay the Night remind me of the Green Day I fell in love with in the 90s.1 point

Only one main act was nice the others didn't offer to return the money lol We've never heard from the promoter again don't know if he just didn't want to be seen or since he used a street dude to invest something happened but we warned dude not to do it in a town that doesn't support oh well lol But yeah people do care about that I wasn't saying they don't just that the parties that gets their money no matter what happens doesn't really care one way or the other as they already have their fee lol And you're right about the wrist bands I totally forgot about the dives as Houston doesn't have too many we have a lot of straight up bars (cause well we're Texas and we drink lol) And for a while HPD was cracking down on bars too seem like every week a club or bar was closed down over selling alcohol to minors1 point

This reminds me of one of my favorite stories when I worked in music... There was a promoter in a small city in Texas 90 miles from Houston he did well with doing small shows there well he decides he wants to do a mega concert he wants to bring three of the biggest artists in the southern region (I won't name the artists not important who they are) he finds an investor to help him invest he books these artists for a total of 75k all together for help pay this he then charges a whole bunch of new artists to open up so he now has 15 openers and 3 main acts he doesn't want to go to Houston he wants to bring them to his hometown against everybody's warning to not as his town doesn't support these kind of shows since this won't be at a club he rents the biggest venue the city has and since they don't like rap they charge him 20k for a 4 hour rental space he pays 10k to run a radio spot and to give 10 tickets away as contest charges 35-70 for tickets The day comes 30 people show up... 10 of them were contest winners... They did the show one of the main acts said fuck it all yall come on stage and did the rest of his set with the entire audience on stage then told the promoter he could have his money back as he's going to need it to pay that invested back lmao1 point

Paying for staff and bands are promoters responsibility not the actual venues Like let say I rented say Madison Square Garden I have to pay let's say 30k for the use for the venue plus promoters have to pay for the staff so say 10k for that then whatever the band charges the promoter has to pay that too The only people who care if the show sells is the promoter as he's (or she or they if they have a company) as the venue has made their money the Venue gets paid first and they don't do the "we will see how ticket sales goes" venue gets paid up front so the actual venue really don't care if a show sells out or not Bars no underage shows should be there as most places in the U.S. it's illegal to have underage people in them they'd lose their liquor license in a heart beat1 point

Guilty pleasure I like 2 Nickelback songs... Not cause they're really good songs but cause of the subject matter (songs are Someday and Far Away) the rest can be put in the trash1 point

I thought it was a way of saying there're no strings attached. Makes more sense if you look at it before the bridge. Far away, far away, waste away tonight I'm wearing my heart on a noose Far away, far away, waste away tonight Tonight my heart's on the loose Talk myself out of feeling Talk my way out of control Talk myself out of falling in love Falling in love with you I could be wrong, but that's what I get from it.1 point

The end of an era. Great new thread title, though--nice one, Tom. Unpopular opinion: Warning probably had the weakest single choices of their career pre-Trilogy. "Minority" is great, but the title track is too repetitious to be ideal; "Waiting", while great, is one of the album's weaker tracks; and "Macy's Day Parade" is a little too much of a downer to be a radio hit. "Castaway" and "Church on Sunday" would've been ideal.1 point

I didn't like the amount of times Billie used the word fuck on Uno or Dos, rather I think the amount of fucks he gave on Tre was just right.1 point
