Did you go to a show on the last tour? I'm perplexed by people saying that because I found them fantastic and full of energy and enthusiasm at the show I attended.5 points

Again, did you even go to a show last tour? Because they were anything but bored when I saw them.4 points

the soundwave tour, which it went to was full of energy. Hardly any mistakes made, and they seemed at the top of their game. My only criticism is that they didn't play for an extra 15 minutes to complete their 3 hour set haha! I think it's really ridiculous people are saying they're gonna break up. They love what they do so much, and have devoted their lives doing it. Just because they released the trilogy, which ended up being unsuccessful, doesn't mean they're suddenly going to say "well I guess that's it guys! It's been fun but that's it, let's leave on a low!" It won't happen, green day would never of that. They stick through the good and bad. Right now they're just simply taking a break, so "when we get ready to do Green Day again, our batteries will be charged.” I'm excited to see green day in 2015, we'll see them refreshed and ready to do what they purely love doing. Yeah, it must have been awful to be at that show2 points
-
That's the fault of people who choose to see a band whose songs they don't know tbh.2 points

To be fair they'll never top the 2009 tour. I've seen them four times in three venues, with a capacity of 20,000, 60,000 and 3,000 and felt very much the same at every show, though.2 points

I actually like the song Loss of Control...2 points

I saw them at Emirates Stadium and Brixton Academy, they were anything but that. Emirates was the epitome of Triumphant Return to the UK (Billie's said many times that he loves it here), and Brixton was just awesome (granted, he forgot Coming Clean, but whatever). This. This is why I think their next album will sound more like Insomniac than anything else - they know they've still got it in them, and they'll want everyone else to know it too.2 points

So out of the two shows you've been to, one didn't live up to the other in your opinion. Green Day's definitely breaking up now. On a side note, Green Day spent way less money last tour, no pyrotechnics and less screens, etc. That stuff is always fun, but they can put on amazing shows without them.1 point

Maybe they just couldn't be arsed playing for you because nothing's ever good enough.1 point

And she even got Brixton's name wrong. I think the future husband thing was a joke though, like when you say "that baby is so cute I just want to steal it and eat it." But still I can't imagine any situation where this would make sense. Like a Green Day fan is at the beach, sees Mike, asks to take pictures of his kids? Because this person is clearly not a friend of the family. Anyway, John Gallagher tweeted that he's singing in a Ramone tribute tomorrow in NYC with some cool people. Most likely nothing to do with Green Day but FYI!1 point

According to Wikipedia (and I've also read it elsewhere so I think it's legit): From that I'm guessing it was another friend's dog, since if it was one of the band members' it probably would've been mentioned alongside the rest of the info.1 point

Yeah, that 16 track seemed to cut out, maybe they played it in full afterwards, but cut it off the tape. Maybe one day the full session will surface.1 point

I think a lot of people seem to be basing it off Reading, in which Billie did seem a bit tired and made more mistakes than I've ever seen him make in a single show ever, but being tired/not quite as on the ball as usual isn't remotely the same thing as being ready to split the band up.1 point
-
Which is exactly what people said after the "failure" of Warning. The difference being that was awesome, but whatever.1 point
-
Having one (three) unsuccessful album doesn't automatically mean they hate music and want to pack up. I think if anything they're gonna be more eager to prove themselves after the trilogy.1 point
-
To be honest, they probably seemed tired because they actually were tired - when the Trilogy tour started, it was pretty much constant travelling/playing/travelling again. Even Green Day need to rest sometimes.1 point

Actually, if he believes it then, to him, it's true. So that example is really lacking in its merit.1 point

Because they've constantly and consistently said they plan to carry on until one of them is "in a coffin" etc throughout their whole career, and they only ever say positive things about the future of the band? It's always possible that any band could break up of course as we never know everything and even they don't know what might happen in the future, but as it stands there's tons of evidence of them not wanting to break up and no evidence of them wanting to.1 point

I agree as well, I don't like the fact people take their children for advantage, it's very creepy1 point
-
I agree. If I was Mike, or any parent, I don't think I'd let random people take pics of my kids. It's creepy.1 point

There's something super off putting about those last tweets. If you don't know someone enough to know their names or you refer to them as 'green day bassist's daughter' or 'green day bassist' then you've got no business putting up photos of them.1 point
-
I think people also have to realize it's not like it was just some random critic shitting on them. My understanding is this is someone who actively got Green Day's closest friends to basically disown them. They got a lot of animosity from people they loved and the place they considered like a home and that guy lead the charge. It's more than just a bad review in some zine.1 point

I don't even see the problem tbh, if someone was an asshole their entire life that doesn't change just because they're dead.1 point

I have always thought J.A.R was on Nimrod.. but today when I listened to the album in my car the song never showed up. I'm amazed.1 point

Listening to the Having a Blast demo for the first time and those harmonies sound like they're off the Trilogy, and the intro to Pulling Teeth sounds kind of like State of Shock (before you ask, that's a good thing as far as I'm concerned). Also, that version of Welcome to Paradise is great. EDIT: Not just Welcome to Paradise, I generally love the guitar sound on these demos. EDIT AGAIN: Why did the end of Basket Case lead into 16, and why didn't they carry on? That sounded really good! ANOTHER EDIT: The Instrumental one reminds me of another song, but I can't figure out what.1 point

You knew about the trilogy 10 years ago??? Why didn't you warn the band?1 point

I saw a picture of a hippie van today with GD written on it and I was excited for a second until I realized it stood for Grateful Dead and not Green Day1 point
