American Idiot never gets boring, I've heard the song so many times but it's so cleverly written and extremely important in Green Days career.4 points

I think you'll find that numerous people, Praxus included, have explained their dislike of the Trilogy multiple times. Something you've never done with AI.2 points

Ever heard about a thing called subjectivity? Even though Todd is a dirty hipster, he has a right to his opinion and at least he doesn't call everyone else fake fans2 points

Nope. It's my all time favorite. I love Dookie and Kerplunk and American Idiot. But I'm 16, I relate to 39/Smooth probably a lot better than adults do. And I'm sure I'll outgrow it for that reason, but for now I want to enjoy it while I can.2 points

AI is easily the most important song in their back catalogue.1 point

There wasn't a mainstream "Fuck Bush" theme. First off, the only song that's "Fuck Bush" is American Idiot itself, the rest has very little to do with him directly, and only Holiday tangentially related by being anti-war. In 2003 when they were writing it, there wasn't a mainstream "Fuck Bush" theme. Bush was still popular enough to win re-election in 2004. I don't like AI as a song either, but the rest of the album doesn't resemble the opening song in anyway.1 point

we all know 5sos covered American idiot for kerrrang! there also putting it on their new single/EP link to the vinyl https://store.universalmusic.com/5sos/*/*/Amnesia-7-Vinyl/3G2J0000000?utm_campaign=5SOSAmnesiaEP-Vinyl&utm_content=5SOSAmnesiaEP-Vinyl&utm_medium=Referral&utm_source=ArtistWebsite1 point

That's very true of earlier albums but I think the American Idiot ones are pretty accurate. Could be wrong but I don't know of any differences there like I do with a lot of the others. And even if it was "alien nation" that'd still clearly be intended to bring the word "alienation" to mind anyway, either way it's word play where two phrases that sound the same are being referred to so in this particular case it doesn't really matter which it is.1 point
-
I don't really thing the lyrics in the cd booklets for Green Day albums are too accurate, I guess they are made from the lyrics that were written not the lyrics Billie sung. I honest don't know if Billie knows exactly what he sings half the time.1 point

That is insulting and I demand him to be banned Tom I demand justice and swift justice at that1 point

I think it's because the sound of the song sounds a lot more like Dos than Drama Queen does. That song would have been so out of place on Dos.1 point
-
Yeah, if Dos has anything, it is cohesiveness. Or at least, more cohesiveness than Uno or Tre. It's still easily the equal shittiest album Greem Day has done, along with Uno. The best song on it is Lazy Bones, which is probably one of my all-time favourite Green Day songs.1 point

It says alienation in the booklet. I think it's meant to be heard both ways though, so there's a double meaning where he's saying the US a nation where people feel alienated and also that it can be a weird, "alien" nation.1 point

He's played with them a few times now. I hope you do get to see them and that Billie makes an appearance, would be so cool to see that in person! They're from Costa Rica 2010, for anyone who cares.1 point
