  4. In reference to somebody's post about Chump up there, the lyrics are spectacular. They do not deserve to be lumped in with KYE's. You're the cloud hanging out over my head Hail comes crashing down welting my face MAGIC MAN,EGOCENTRIC PLASTIC MAN Yet you still get one over on me I think they're great.

  6. Even though Loss of control is pretty bad I do like the lines "hanging out all by myself atleast I'm in good company" and "I'm gonna hide in the shadows cause I really got nothing to say, we never had anything in common and I never liked you anyway"

  7. I love Shenanigans! It's actually one of my favourite albums.

  8. I thought I hated just about every song on Shenanigans, but I just went through it again and realized I only dislike Rotting and On the Wagon.

  9. Ooh ooh unpopular opinion, I find Ha Ha You're Dead to be the worst song on Shenanigans and one of their worst songs of all time (although bear in mind that means I don't like it that much but still don't dislike it). Too football chant-y or something. Plus Pinhead Gunpowder's At Your Funeral (made shortly before it) is the far superior gloating over someone being dead song with vocals by Billie so I'd always rather listen to that instead. I don't think Espionage existed when Nimrod came out (I assume, since it was written for the second Austin Powers film that came out in 1999). A fine song though. But I like Last Ride In as a retro, surfy, tongue in cheek interval for having a chilled out break in the middle of Nimrod which complements the retro/surfy sound subtly running through the album, the often tongue in cheek turns it takes and diverse range of songs very nicely and amusingly as well.

  10. shenanigans is way better than the trilogy. i'd rather have a 14-song incohesive "album" than three with 37 songs that suck.

  11. Ha Ha You're Dead must be one of the catchiest songs they ever did.

  12. Tre is obviously more cohesive an album than Shenanigans, which isn't even an album. That said, Espionage and Ha Ha You're Dead blow every song off the former save Brutal Love out of the water.

  13. Same here. The album version is pretty awful, but the demolicious version is so much better, it's hard to believe it's basically the same song.

  14. Oh I considered that on topic, in response to Seagull's opinion that AI is crap, it was the more general discussion of him that started afterwards that I was referring to.

  15. Sorry My only real reason for sharing those posts was that this thread (as well as the old one) gets derailed semi-regularly with a silly argument about AI, usually fronted by Seagull, so I considered it a public service to advise on how to extinguish that whenever it happens.

  16. Interesting opinion of yours, I disagree with it. I love all of those albums, the trilogy is just the most enjoyable for me.

  17. Agreed. And I generally don't, to be honest. I mean, I also love Dookie and Nimrod, but they aren't objectively on a level with American Idiot or Breakdown. To be honest, I was more objecting to the fact the The Trilogy was chosen as the best, not the fact that it wasn't AI

  18. Up there, definitely. Everyone has their opinions - definitely! But I think technically speaking, and objectively speaking, American Idiot and probably Breakdown are their best works. I like parts of the Trilogy, but I can't see it getting anywhere near those two.

  19. I genuinely cannot understand how anyone could have that opinion. Surely that has to be American Idiot?!

  24. Watching a documentary about classic rock'n'roll and Green Day were talking about Johnny B Goode! Had no idea they were going to be there, and it was awesome!

  25. Poor trolling attempt 0/10. I've literally never seen you successfully justify your dislike for AI at all. "I don't like other fans" isn't a good reason.
