False. The Demolicious version of the song is brilliant. It's actually one of my favorites. But yeah, the Tré version basically sucks balls.3 points

Spitting is disgusting. Stop it Billie, or I'll tell your mum. The thing with Mike's line in SDV is that it's a bit random, why is he singing just a single line, and not a whole verse or song?2 points

I definitely like Sex Drugs and Violence better on Demolicious, same for Little Boy Named Train (which I wouldn't have thought possible cause I really didn't like the song). In fact I'd say I like almost all of them better on Demolicious, especially some of the different lyrics like the bridge in Let Yourself Go. What the fuck was he thinking using the one on Uno instead and why did no one stop him?? It would be a perfect album for me if Wild One, X Kid, Lazy Bones, 8th Avenue Serenade and SWTRLF were on it. And Dirty Rotten Bastards too but maybe broken into parts or just something different and ANYTHING other than the "carried away" verse at the end. I hate that so much. Could do without Makeout Party but even that is better on Demolicious. And I really do love State Of Shock. All in all I'm so happy Demolicious was released, it redeemed the trilogy quite a bit in my eyes. And Baby Eyes is incredible, possibly my favorite on the album. Oh and in my dream world Dreamcatcher would have been on it too cause I think that songs incredible and would have fit right in with the trilogy. I really think that song was one of the first he wrote in the trilogy "style"2 points

I like the verses to Sex Drugs & Violence escp the line "I took a wrong turn at growing up and it's freaking me out"2 points

In other news, I'm still utterly baffled as to why liking Mike's part in Sex, Drugs and Violence is considered an unpopular opinion. Like, what's not to love about it? It's the only bit of the song worth listening to.2 points

Nothing better than getting in the car after a 12 hour work day and having Welcome to Paradise start on the radio right as you turn on the car.2 points

To me Dirty Rotten Bastards sounds like a copy, a sequel with not much inspiration. It feels like whilsf most of the earlier multi-part compositions (bar American Eulogy) were inspired, spirited efforts and the unconventional song structures never felt forced or the main appeal of theirs but DRB on the other hand is an example of what happens when the form matters more than pure genuine inspiration. I don't know, I just despise that song. But of course, it may be because of those words...1 point

I agree that Uno's ending is stronger, but I don't count DRB as weak (in the context of the album, anyway--on any other Green Day album...). Let's face it, the lyrics suck ass but it's incredibly fun to listen to.1 point

I've always wondered if Mike wrote that line and that's why he got to sing it I disagree completely I think Uno is the weakest of the three as most of the songs are rudimentary and plain. Dos is my favorite cause it carries its theme best but I think the really best songs from the trilogy are found mostly on Dos and Tre (Brutal Love, Lazy Bones, X Kid, Missing You, SWTRLF, Wild One, DRB, Stray Heart) And I've said I love the acoustic Stay The Night a bunch of times. Even though I know it technically sucks I think its amazing1 point

I have a huge boner for spitting/loogieing Billie right now. A-men, sistah.1 point

If anyone spits in front of me, I will literally start gagging. So my closest friends wait until I'm super drunk and purposefully hack up loogies. So don't worry, this isn't the worst thing that's happened to me.1 point

How do you manage to listen to Insomniac, especially his booger-lugging slurp at the start of Geek Stink Breath?1 point

Lol wut. I just meant that if they really have a good range of rare old artists' records, I need to find that place. Because good retro record shops are kinda hard to find. At least here. I never find any Left Banke or the Incredible String Band records and it bugs me. T Agreed. And another point I gotta make is that hair metal is the msot embarrassing genre ever. Even AOR or glam rock pr europop /disco/whatever have had some high points but hair metal was just entirely embarrassing.1 point

That's true, but to be fair Billie is a renowned giant loogie hocker and he is "spitting" venom in the lyrics of the song, so I'd say it's fairly appropriate.1 point

I enjoy, I find it quite nostalgic too. It's like looking back on your life after everything you've been through. Nice way to end the trilogy.1 point

I have no idea what you find so bad about The Forgotten. I think the song and lyrics are pretty fantastic.1 point

Well, Nightlife is just a fun song and I do find the lust and sense of dread in Billie's vocals/lyrics to be relatable.1 point

For real what's wrong with the Sex Drugs and Violence lyric though? Every word of it makes sense, with multiple thoughtful/intelligent meanings that relate to the song and society (and that have already been explained by many people on here), and it's put in a succinct and catchy way. I don't see the issue with it.1 point

Oh gosh that looks horrid... I got through 20 seconds and had to turn it off!1 point
