  1. To be fair though, "Our romance is a love trance, and now we'll never part" is a far cry from "Oh baby, baby, it's fuck time."

  2. Especially Lady Cobra (I almost wrote Lady Nightlife, whoops)

  7. A little thread so people can have a place to share random thoughts that don't really fit anywhere else or warrant their own thread. I'll start. I watched Reading 2013 again tonight for some reason. It was just a suggested video on YouTube, so I put on my headphones and turned it up. God I loved it. Stop When The Red Lights Flash is amazing live. And Billie's vocals on Brutal Love, especially the high part on "Something for my troubled mind", it's just spot on. I watched that part over like 5 times. Watching them perform this mish-mash of songs from their entire career, then throwing in the entirety of Dookie in the middle of it at all, really just reminded me how great their music is. It's nice to be reminded from time to time that you can watch a 2 hour concert of theirs and just fall into the music. Start trying to analyze the songs and how you interpret them, or try to understand what Billie was thinking when he wrote them. There's not a lot of music out there that I really fall into like that. I like catchy tunes, songs that I sing along with and have good melody, but it's very rare for me to really admire a song enough to want to analyze it. So that was the past 2 hours watching this concert. I have all these random thoughts going through my head while watching. "Fuck they sound good." "It's amazing how much sound and energy can be brought on the stage by 3 guys who grew up together". "Fuck what am I doing with my life, I want to bring something positive like that to lots of people". "They need more fast songs like Stop When The Red Lights Flash, that should have been a single. They should have played it on Letterman. It would have been huge." And many many many more thoughts. So feel free to leave your random Green Day thoughts here and we'll see where this goes.

  8. here's an email i would like to share, and when i read it i just think "what the fuck". People are so retarded it makes me cringe. Here's today's This email is regarding to the "IMPORTANT" part on the Contact us on GDA. Here's that part I wrote on that page to avoid people writing to Green Day through us. "*IMPORTANT*: We at GDA have NO contact with any members from Green Day, their management, record label or family members. We are just some really dedicated fans who happen to be geeks. As much as we wish we could pass your love letters over to them, we can't. So don't waste your (and our) time writing something to them. This form is to contact the webmasters for anything pertaining to GDA, we cannot help you any further than that. Try Google for anything else. Thanks!" Here is what this person wrote to us about: "1: Why would you call us geeks when we are not the ones who created this website, and is probably a 50 year old man who has nothing else to do accept he's a loser and made a website where he can be incharge of? 2: Quote on quote you said " As much as we wish we could pass your love letters over to them, we can't. So don't waste your (and our) time writing something to them." Right well I don't wast my time I'm writing poems and going too school too be a A+ student and I adore Green Day that's mostly my range of peacefull music I listen too... And I just wanta go up too Billie Joe and ask him if he likes my poems. And who and what inspired his songs and too be a rock star. So if you don't know who we are and what we do every day you can shut up." I get so many of these, most are much better than this (as in more stupid), I'll share somtime.

  12. I neglected to mention Maria earlier because it's not about a woman

  13. Yes you are right. Billie Joe referenced this funeral home in the song. It is along a street that they frequently hung out on.

  14. I was referring to the Trilogy in general but more specifically to Dos (as you're right and Uno and Tre aren't all about the subject). And it's unfortunate in that the totally different way is both more immature than the previous way (all about sex) and more demeaning of women than the previous way (compare nearly any song off Dos to "She" or "Maria").

  15. Wasn't the song title referencing this? So it goes full circle: Going to Pasalacqua (sic) was I believe referring to this place, and now it gets posted in a Green Day reference thread.

  18. Haushinka was from 92 anyways, so that's not a strong example of a middle-Green Day song about girls

  22. Wait. Billie and Tre each get their own likenesses on the front and back of Uno and Tre, but Mike only gets to have one picture. OHMYGODTHATMEANSTHEGUYSAREN'TGETTINGALONGWELLGREENDAYISDOOMED

  23. Yesterday someone called me an "outlaw" at work, and the next person responded by saying "yeah, she's a rebel!" There's no way that wasn't intentional. They know.
