Depends on the performance. In the one you linked he's using chords, but he's moving around them. Like he isn't strumming all six strings for G, just some. If you want that effect just "try" to play the individual notes but don't be precise about it and hit the surrounding strings as well.1 point

You could still hear those things because the microphones pick everything up. But if it was track by track the band wouldn't all be in the room at the same time, and there's clearly more than one of them on some songs.1 point

All the video teasers (stray heart, fell for you, makeout party, etc) were in studio, so it makes sense they recorded video, released the audio as Demolicious, but there's still video to go with these demos which they used in the teasers1 point

Yeah but it's pretty obvious from listening to them that they're done live. Overdubbing wouldn't sound like that, you can tell there's bleed between the tracks. There's a possibility that the vocals were overdubbed, but it seems very unlikely knowing how the Trilogy was recorded, the vibe they were going for, and the slight tempo changes when Tre speeds up. There are a couple of tracks where a third guitar comes in, though, and they're clearly overdubs.1 point

They were all recorded live in the studio, hence the talking at the end. There's a possibility of overdubs in a couple of tracks too, but 99% of it is totally live.1 point
