The end of an era. Great new thread title, though--nice one, Tom. Unpopular opinion: Warning probably had the weakest single choices of their career pre-Trilogy. "Minority" is great, but the title track is too repetitious to be ideal; "Waiting", while great, is one of the album's weaker tracks; and "Macy's Day Parade" is a little too much of a downer to be a radio hit. "Castaway" and "Church on Sunday" would've been ideal.6 points

That three note lead guitar run in the chorus of 21 Guns is the most annoying thing they've ever done.5 points

Billie was great when he played that drunken, violent, foul mouthed vandal. Oh, wait.4 points

Hot Dayum. Here's an opinion on here: Green Day sucks. At least nowadays, they do. The songwriting has gotten very sloppy and makes no sense. I guess I'm more of a fan of the rock operas. If they continue in the writing direction of the trilogy, I'd have now choice but to stop following the band.3 points

Time for a shiny new thread for all you horrible people (me included) to whine about Green Day. The last thread was getting pretty repetitive and far too big. As ever, keep it civil and on-topic. The last thread caused more than its fair share of arguments, but as long as you don't act like an asshat we shouldn't have a problem. The old thread can be found here. Enjoy!2 points

what, a video of a cassette tape wasnt decent?2 points

The only way it could possibly work would be to do a The Wall type thing—no dialogue, no singing. Just play the album front to back with quality actors doing their best to channel emotion without saying anything. And look how well that worked for the "Jesus of Suburbia" video.2 points

As much as I love AI as an album, they're already borderline flogging a dead horse. A movie would just be ridiculous.2 points

The fact that everyone acknowledges that Billie is a horrible actor is yet another reason that I am baffled that people still want the AI movie to happen.2 points

Hating the trilogy is hardly an unpopular opinion2 points

Nice title for the topic! Anyways, everyone knows I think the trilogy sucks, I don't need to say it again. (This is my way of saying it again without being too annoying. )2 points

I like it, too! He looks way better then before but it is noticeable by now ;P1 point

I didn't know they were edited actually. But in that case, they would have edited Brutal Love. That would have been blasphemy, but I guess you can cut the beginning and end a bit and not ruin it too much. It's by far the best song on the trilogy, so I would hope it would have some success!1 point

As for DRB it's meh. The first part and second part aren't too bad, and might work ok as fully developed, individual songs, but the final part? With the random key change, time signature change and the random, unconnected warbling on about getting carried away (where did that even come from?!)? No. You gotta admit though, the bass and guitar solos in the middle are pretty damn cool1 point
-
Same! Everyone seems to dislike it but I love how dreamy it sounds, it does make you sleepy ha. There's only a handful of songs I really like from the trilogy: stay the night, swtrlf, 8th avenue serenade and missing you. Least favs are fell for you and Amy, just don't like them at all :x the rest are just middling, I like certain bits in songs but just not them as whole songs1 point

Brutal Love. I wouldn't mind seeing the AI movie if it were a kind of lo-fi production - somewhat under the radar - but no, Green Day shouldn't be in it.1 point

Wow. yes, you can. I never heard such an unpopular opinion1 point

Haha agreed! Stupidest one is "There's nothing wrong with being a loser, it just depends on how you are at it". Why would they take the word "good" out of that sentence?!1 point

Be pretty boring if everyone just posted their opinions without any explanation! You don't have to of course, but explaining and discussing unpopular opinions is encouraged in this thread as well as just stating them.1 point

I didn't like the amount of times Billie used the word fuck on Uno or Dos, rather I think the amount of fucks he gave on Tre was just right.1 point
