  3. At the show at the Allstate Arena, Billie constantly made eye contact with me. So eventually, I just started making funny faces at him to crack him up and he smiled a lot mid song at me. I met them after the show (having connections is awesome =) ) and he told me, "You! You were the one that kept trying to make me laugh!" and he started cracking up.

  4. I have met them :') Funny story, actually. They were doing a meet and greet in Hollywood back in '09 and all the wristbands had sold out, but I decided to go anyway. So, people are already lining up and all and I didn't want to get in the line, because I didn't want to get kicked out by security. But my mom made me she was like "get in there " and as soon as I got to the end of the line, there was this lady who was with her kids and her husband, they all had wristbands and she said "I don't feel like going, so if anyone here asks me for my wristband, I'll give it to them" So, of course, with no doubt I was like "CAN I HAVE IT? " And she gave it to me. So, I am thankful for that lady because I got to meet my idols thanks to her. Mike gave me a fistbump and I remember Billie looking at me and asking me if the cd he had just signed was mine. He wrote my name and signed my poster and I asked him if I could touch him (I know, the most retarded question ever, but what could I do? I was fourteen and I was fangirling BIG TIME ) and he smiled and grabbed my hand.. he was so warm :') and then Tré held my hand and signed my poster too. And then I met Billie again last year at an Emily's Army show. I didn't get to talk to him much, because everyone was pretty much tackling him and during the show I was paying attention to EA playing . I got an autograph, but I mailed that one to my best friend in Argentina

  7. It completely depends on their mood and when you meet them, I think. Except for Tre- he is just Tre 100% of the time from what I can tell. When I met Tre he couldn't have been any more of his stereotypical self, if that makes any sense. A complete spaceshot with no sense of self-awareness whatsoever. It was classic. For what it's worth, Mike was guarded and not in the least bit thrilled to meet me. Can't blame him (it was me meeting one of my idols after all, not vice versa), but he came across like he couldn't care less. I was fine with it- I was just happy to have the opportunity to meet him! Billie was great, but I think I was just lucky enough to meet him at the right time and in a good moment. After I met him he Bill Schneider basically pushed him past some other fans to get him into his bus...they were probably behind schedule or something. Timing is everything when you meet people as famous as him, I guess. And don't worry in the least about your experience at the film festival...I'm sure the whole experience was a blur for him, being surrounded by photographers and the event, etc. I'm sure he was still working out what he was going to say on stage in his mind (you know how before you feel before you give a public presentation and you're running through your speech? I'm sure he was doing that. I've given presentations in front of lots of people and chatted with people beforehand. The whole time I was rehearsing what I was going to say in the speech and just kind of aimlessley chatted with folks while not really paying attention to the conversation because of my nerves, if that makese sense).

  13. Yeah, don't worry. Billie seemed really awkward when I saw him. Tre, Tre was just being Tre, and Mike was really nice.

  14. The imaginary friend thing is so spot on. And the whole weird exchange thing is why I never intend to meet them. I wouldn't be able to get over it. I also like to believe I'm a dignified individual and part of that means not putting myself in situations where I'd make a tit of myself. I wouldn't trust myself not to burst in tears out of sheer nervousness upon meeting them. I'm genuinely really sorry to hear that he was probably just having an off day if he seemed reserved, and you couldn't have helped that anyway. Don't beat yourself up about it; I doubt he will remember it if you meet again since you didn't really do anything strange or bad.

  20. So back in February of 2011 I went to the Frustrators show in LA at the troubadour and knew that i would probably get to meet the band at some point that night. so i went to the merch stand and hung out with jason and terry and then we went in because the show was about to start. The first band goes on and it is me, my dad and my girlfriend. Yeah i was 17 and at a concert with my dad, but im now 19 and still dont drive and plus hes digs all the music i listen to and loves shows so i'm totally fine.as the first band is playing my dad turns around and whose behind us in the pit? Mike. My dad shakes his hand and says hows it going. But then these girls went up to mike and put papers in his face most likely to sign and he looked bugged and moved and started moshing in the middle. I could have cried because i thought that i missed my chance to meet Mike. Then we watched the show and had a bunch of fun. and after the show we hung around the stage to see if we could find Mike and had no luck. so we went back to the merch stand after the show to actually buy the stuff we wanted. we stood in line and i was sad then out of nowhere when were at the front of the line Mike runs up and sits on the couch next to us! We talked and got pictures and told him how awesome the show was and stuff. He was said he was pretty drunk and had to look at our pictures to make sure he didnt look too bad. but yeah super nice and funny and something ill remember forever. Then when i went to the American Idiot musical he sat a few rows in front of our group and i'm sure if my cousins didnt fight and force me to leave early i could have talked to him again. but i cant complain. i was also supposed to go to the Jimmy Kimmel Show and Burbank signing that got cancelled which also seem like they would be good opportunities.

  21. I had VIP passes to Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel, and i was going to camp out at the Burbank meet and greet. Then iHeart happened the very day before I was suppoed to meet them for the first time. It was heartbreaking, but Billie's choice to get well instead of doing the promotional appearences was definetly for the best. Crossing my fingers they'll be rescheduled! Oh yeah, and apparently I've met Mike. When I was in 4th grade, Mike's daugher Estelle went to my tiny, unknown private school in LA while the guys were recording 21CB. I remember hearing that someone from Green Day's daughter went to my school and never quite figured out it was her until I got super into them 2 FREAKING YEARS LATER and looked in the yearbook. I knew Estelle pretty well too! I never formally met Mike, but I remember a man wearing chains on his jeans going up to my friend and asking her what time it was.... it was definetly Mike. And Brixton was just born that year so Brittney brought him up to be "blessed" at my school church thing. And Mike personally called my friend after seeing my school's awful concert to tell him how much he reminded him of Billie when he was that age. WHY WAS I SO YOUNG? I'm just ranting now, but as you can see the thought of my idol walking around my small campus angers me.

  23. Well I can't speak for Billie and Tre (except the couple of times that I've spoken to them that didn't really count, like bumping into them in an airport and being like "HI!"), but Mike is everything you could hope for haha. I asked him to draw a bass clef behind my ear and he drew a dot and goes "It's a beauty spot!" and then left the building and went home. it was amazing haha, little asshole.

  24. I met Mike at the Frustrators. He was a massive goofball that kept yelling at me and pushed me around a couple of times. He can't draw/write or read music, and he is a snarky asshole I loved it. I also told him he was the inspiration for everything I want to be in my life and he said "awww" and initiated a hug. He also told me a great story about Belinda Carlisle and her boobs, judged me for being dirty and flying to the US on a credit card, and initiated the goodbye hug when I told him I had to fly home to Aus the next day. Aaand he took a photo of my tattoo on his phone. He was perfect :') and I have no need to meet the others because nothing could top that weekend.

  25. Billie threw toilet paper at me and laughed when I put it in my pocket on a show. Does that count?

  26. I met billie once at an autograph signing. It wasn't really like MEETING THEM. it was like standing in front of him while he wrote his name on a piece of paper. Lame. But still kind of neat i guess. Considering the way i started sweating balls before i met Joey at an EA show i am pretty sure i would make a fool of myself meeting green day (seriously- i am a 30 year old woman meeting a 16 year old kid! what is wrong with me! i switched deodorant brands after that day! it was ridiculous.) I just want to meet them to know if they are nice. I've met a lot of musicians, and a lot of bands i listen to, and i feel priviledged to have had those experiences (also, it comes from listening to crappy punk bands no one's ever heard of). But- this one band... that shall remain unnamed (for the time being)... who are vaguely popular and on the radio (especially in the late '90's)... were TOTAL FUCKING JERKS... and it was such a huge disappointment. I really couldn't believe it and it fucking hurt my feelings, y'know? So i just want to meet Green Day just to make sure they're not total dickbags. That's all. (i've heard they are pretty nice and normal. Joey was the sweetest most polite kid ever, if that is any reflection on his parents. I only bugged him for a second because there were a bunch of fangirls fangirling out on him and i didn't want to be annoying, but i wanted to say hi.)

  27. I'd love to meet them, or just Mike. I was talking to this guy in a class I have the other day and he says: I look like Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day. me: no, you don't at all actually... Him: I met them, Billie was all right, the bass player was quiet, and I think what ever the drummer's name is is gay. I hate hearing stories like that... taking it for granted just bugs me, with any famous person with fans for that matter.
