  6. It's Jason's birthday today! To celebrate, one of my favorite performances from him. And a bonus kiss from the Rev.

  7. I have no idea why, but the lines from "21 Guns" in the second verse "your faith walks on broken glass, and the hangover doesn't pass, nothing's ever built to last" hits me so hard. I absolutely want a tattoo of those lyrics with some sort of picture, like angel's wings or something because it talks about faith and hope. I know everyone kind of rants and raves about the third verse, but I just love the second verse.

  8. Haha, at least weed isn’t toxic. God only knows what’s in this smoke with all kinds of buildings/materials burning.

  9. OMG, I was there! This was so amazing there just aren't words and I'd forgotten about the growling "ever get so full" late on! Someone called Billie the "Duracell bunny rock star" and seriously, I still think it's a great description of him, yes he's pretty small but he's action packed! Fun sized is good too.

  10. Sounds like an accurate description of young Billie to me haha. It's cool that your mum got to meet the little brat

  11. So I don't really know where to post this, but my mom used to work in radio and was scheduling a show at the Phoenix Underground in Seattle and Green Day was playing. It was right before Subpop signed them on to record Dookie. She described Billie as a 'bratty little punk with blue hair' that was full of himself! And the band was just a little too young to be in the club so between sets they had to sit outside in the alleyway. My mom didn't really get to talk to them, just small interactions as she was doing a remote radio setup for the station. And I was just so shocked, like that could never be BJA based upon what she said! But I guess people change and serious, fast-paced fame like that can really get into your head.

  12. I’m mostly just hoping they’re good about wearing high quality masks. Don’t even want to think about what breathing that smoke in would do to their health.

  20. Hopefully Back in the USA can get to 12 million views by Friday as it would be nice for it to have 12 million views in its 1st year on YouTube. It is currently on 11.1 million.

  21. It’s Mike’s tone that gives the chorus that chant feel. I love Mike’s voice, I wish he got a solo every album.

  22. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks this!! He's just such an amazing guy. I could gush about him all day. Instead of working at work like a normal adult I just sit there and daze off about my "married life" with Billie Joe...

  23. I've been listening to this album, and while my jury is still out, the title track and "Little Help" instantly grabbed me, thanks for reminding me about the Trio! I'm going to be checking out Blue October's new one as well. Gotta love those color-named bands!

  28. This is why he needs all that Fiji Water, to replenish his spit reserves

  29. Awesome Wow, I mean RIGHT in his face. He waited for the perfect opportunity for the guy to be within spitting range. Look at this guy's reaction lol My theory would be that his small body simply can't hold all the rage he is building up, so as a surviving tactic, the body turns the rage into liquid form so it can be sprayed at the foe. Similar to how it works in the animal kingdom, with squids or skunks... 🤔

  31. Here, I made a couple gifs for those who want them: As a biology person, I feel like I have to add that the major contributor to the volume of a camel's "spit" is actually regurgitated stomach acid. That's how the camel is able to spit so much and so forcefully. That being said, I have no idea what Billie's excuse is. However he manages to make that much spit, it's impressive. He never stops amazing me.

  32. Spit? No, that's a shower

  35. @The Bellie @IcyMoffatt @Hermione I agree with all of you. He does look small when compared to taller people, and sometimes when he's on stage because of his delicate build. I would probably be like "oh, you're a very normal size" if I were to stand next to him because I'm only 5'5", but he is definitely dwarfed by a lot of the fans that come up. He is a shorter than average, but not unusually short, feisty, high energy fluff boy.

  36. When I saw them at the Aragon, my first thought upon entering the room was, "Okay, where are the other short people?" Apparently, we like Jason's side.

  37. The only thing more striking than how small he looks on stage is how much energy he has. I know it's normal for band frontmen to be energetic on stage but it's like watching a superhuman, constantly moving, running, jumping, dancing all while singing at the top of his lungs, playing/carrying a guitar and keeping command over the show/audience and never seems to be out of breath or tired, he makes it look effortless. I had a better view than usual at the end of the catwalk at my Rev Rad show and I was in awe watching him. I'm just totally fangirling thinking of that show now haha. Can't wait to see them live again

  38. ^ That picture of Billie on the box with the giant fan reminds me of the time he stood on a box next to Will Farrell! Billies pint-sized body is one of the things that makes him so cute, though. When I saw him I think I screamed the nanosecond I saw him then a few seconds later laughed at his size 😂

  39. Fun sized... haha! perfect description of the 3 of them.
    1 point
  40. I mean regardless of how tall he actually is he does look tiny when you see him in the flesh running around on stage. I think the whole band looks surprisingly small when you see them at a show though. None of them are really that far from average but none of them are very tall or built very big either so when you see them they're like, a fun sized band Also I think short people tend to gravitate to other short people (and tall to tall etc) and Green Day fans are shorter on average than the general population. Can't prove my theory but I'm sure there's some truth to it

  41. Had a dream that I moved to Oakland because I didn't want to miss out on any more Coverups shows (or other GD side project shows). In the dream I was at tonight's Coverups show and I bumped into Billie afterwards. He noticed my accent and asked where I was from. I told him I was from England and he was like "so what brings you here?" and I was like "YOU brought me here with all of your damn side projects that never come to the UK" and he laughed. Then on a more serious note I said that I wished I could've gone to a Longshot show. He told me that he had wanted to bring the Longshot to the UK/Europe but it wasn't really feasible at the time. We talked a little more about the Longshot, then he said he had to go, but he invited me to the after party and told me where it was. So I turned up to the after party a little while later and Billie greeted me with the biggest hug ever and it felt like I'd known him for years. Then he went off to dance and I just sat down in the corner and watched because I don't dance in public lol. I looked up and saw Billie dad dancing and tried my best not to laugh at him. Every now and again he'd take a break from dad dancing and he'd come and sit down next to me and we'd chat for a bit. We talked about the Coverups show and he started talking about some of the songs they played and what they meant to him. We talked a bit more about the Longshot too. Then he started talking about Gilman and telling me about stuff from the early years. For some reason I mentioned Mt. Eddy at some point and Billie's eyes lit up and he started talking about how proud he was of both of his boys and their bands and their music, and he had the biggest smile on his face and I was internally fangirling so fucking hard because of how fucking cute it was. Then he must've got bored of talking about himself because he started asking about me, if I was enjoying living in Oakland, what my life had been like back in England etc. Then he told me that he loves playing shows in England and I pretended to be salty at him because GD always avoid my part of England like the plague. It felt really nice just talking with him like that though, he was so kind and friendly and sweet and he seemed really comfortable and happy. And whenever a song that he really liked came on, he'd get up and start dancing and singing along to it and he looked as if he was having the absolute time of his life, it was so beautiful to see. When it was time to go home, he gave me another big hug and that's when I woke up.

  42. I'm quite sure Billie farted at some point, within the last 2 hours. I felt in my soul. If that ain't news, I don't know what is. Also, I've been seeing posters all over Oslo, Billie's face is everywhere. I'll try to steal one and upload a decent picture later.
