Green Day is turning away people who bought tickets from sites other than Ticketmaster.

Damn, I just bought tickets for Webster off of Stubhub. Do you know if this event is will call? Because Webster isn't, it's just print out tickets. I imagine if it's just print out tickets, you won't need the buyers I.d. to get in right? It should just be a simple scan and you're in. Does anyone who bought Webster hall tickets on Ticketmaster, know if their name is on the actual ticket?

I'm sure we will know more after this show ends. Maybe ask someone who bought tickets from stub hub. I am looking at ticket-masters site now and it is showing "tickets available from partner sites" for various Green Day shows so it's a toss up.

Do you know if this event was will call? Or were the tickets delivered electronically?

i'm not sure. I wish I did, I am sorry. Stubhub is usually more reliable than like vividseats or any of those other companies.

Thanks anyway. Yea I've heard that stubhub is only selling tickets for shows without I.d. or original card needed. Makes sense because Webster is electronic delivery and many shows aren't up on stubhub, but at the same time Boston(an I.d. will call show) is up on stubhub. I just checked Ticketmaster and it does list credit card entry for some shows. However, Webster says tickets delivered October 6. Wonder if the tickets have names on em though.

So I checked tickets for tonight's show and it was made clear that you needed the credit card to get in. I also checked Webster and it didn't say credit card entry or anything. You still need an I.d. to get in because of age, but I don't think the actual ticket requires the original I.d. or card. I wonder if the credit card entry means will call though. Maybe they got tickets and just had their names on em, rather than picking tickets up when they get there.

That sucks... Have they ever done stuff like this before, or have other artists?

I actually bought my tickets with a pre-paid Visa gift card from Ticketmaster.  Both Ticketmaster and the venue told me this shouldn't be a problem, but now I'm worried again...

They had a list of the names of people who actually bought the tickets.  They were going though that when people entered.

So no one actually had physical tickets? No print outs or anything?

not from what I have heard from those who went.  It was credit card entry only.

I think Webster is the only show thats not credit card entry. My friend got print at home tickets just hasn't received them yet.

Hey thanks! Sorry, but do you know if they had to put their name on the ticket or not? Or if there will be a name on the ticket?

She had to enter her name but idk if they're going to be strict with it. They may just scan them like a regular show. I hope I don't have an issue with mine cause she bought 3. One for her, one for her sister and mine separately.

Guess we will have to wait and see. If the actual name isn't on the ticket itself, I don't see any reason why they would need an I.d. and name confirmation, or how they'd be able to tell if you bought the ticket or not anyway. I got mine on stubhub so if anything, I'll most likely be able to get my money back. One thing that concerns me is that it was a lottery sale and certain people were chosen. Hopefully it'll be okay for the both of us!

Yeah I think so. That was the stupidest thing the lottery sale. Definitely not fair. This will be my 6th Green Day show but there's people who haven't even seen them once.

I agree, I didn't even know about it. Took a day off from work to get the tickets just to find out I needed a code that I couldn't get. I see why they did it, to avoid scalpers, but it shouldn't be listed as a general public sale then.

Think you'll be fine since it's print at home for Webster. Also, I heard most of the people who bought resale tickets got in tonight. Don't think many people were actually turned away.

OK, so to clarify what happened tonight with tickets when we entered the venue:

- They only let in small groups of people into the venue at a time and shut the main doors as they let people through. It took two hours to get everyone inside. The doors opened at 6 p.m. and the opener started at 8 p.m. It was super tedious but very organized.

- There was a paper list of names with everyone who bought tickets. I saw my first name on it. It took them FOREVER to look it up. They made you go to that line first.

- Then you had to move to a male line or female line to get patted down. Which was frustrating as hell because my husband and I got separated and his line was super slow compared to mine.

- Once we got back together, then they checked my ID and scanned my credit card. It took three times to get it to work and it's a brand new card. Not sure what that was about. They printed off a stub for me and then we were let inside to the pit.

- I personally know a person with StubHub tickets who got in. Their name was not on the paper list and they were sent back to a computer where their prepaid credit card was scanned and their name popped up. Then since their ID matched the information stored on the card, they were sent back to the credit card scanner. That scanner still didn't work after several attempts so a security person decided to just let them through because the stored card information matched their ID. I'm not sure if it was a scanner issue or card issue, or if the situation was handled similarly for other people with prepaid credit cards. But from what I understand, my friend bought from an "authorized" reseller on StubHub, which made a difference.

- I heard anecdotally that one person had Vivid Seats print off tickets (like, on paper) and their name wasn't on the paper list and they still got in, but I'm not sure how accurate that information is though.

Exactly. Talk about nerves.

That process is shit and I definitely have qualms about paperless ticketing systems, but I think it's gonna be worse in Detroit when you have everyone trying to get their tickets from ONE will call box on the street, fighting with Fillmore staff and holding up the single line if they decide that you can't just show an accurate credit card but that your name has to be on the list of credit card users. I'm excited this means I'll probably have an actual ticket and not just the cheap paper receipt, but I also don't know if it wouldn't be easier to just forgo the will call for card scanners, if the same entry criteria is established. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the St. Louis venue was originally going to do will call but now changed to credit card entry, at least for presale-bought tickets, for this reason.

Just, yikes. I bought my ticket legitimately and I'm not stressing about getting in early/barrier (I'll stand wherever I land) but yet all of these horror stories are freaking me out anyway!

Yeah, it all sounds better in theory than reality. I just realized it took them longer to get us into the show than the band played. Ugh. Like, I know what they're doing is noble in trying to keep prices cheap, but it's becoming ridiculously over the top and tedious to execute and as long as prepaid credit cards are a thing the scalpers will still make their profits.

Also, I thought of you today after the show. They gave away souvenir tickets so you could have proof you were there! I thought you'd love that. I hope they do it in Detroit! :D

My god that sounds unbearably tedious, I pray it won't be anything like that at shows here.

I don't think it's that bad that names were checked etc if it was credit card entry though.
