allisterallister Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 So I just got AI on vinyl and was listening to Homecoming, right? I get to the transition between East 12th St and Nobody Likes You and I hear this really soft dialogue that I couldn't really make out, has anyone else come across this or ?????
spark in the night Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Wow for real? I need to give it a listen then haha
Justin Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 I've always wanted to know what the final part of Homecoming is, there's shouting that sounds like "I'm fucking pissed off" but can't work out the rest

But what I found was extra freaky because you can't hear it at all in the digital versions of the album. Wish I could post the video I took
Liam Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 It's something they released on the later vinyl pressings plus the HDTracks. I don't know exactly what it is but it means to be TV static plus shows. In other words it's the character channel surfing before it comes in "I fell asleep while watching Spike TV" No hidden message. Just some extra sound effects
PurpleIron1039 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I bet it says "do it". Anyone here get what I'm talking about?

I've watched all the news specials about the subliminal message trials on YouTube and the Dream Deceivers documentary as well. The whole thing was bullshit. However, I think it would be really cool if there were subliminal/hidden messages on AI. I've always thought that that would add more of an interesting element to a song, even if the message is goofy and was put there for fun (see Maiden's "Still Life").

Just some extra sound effects It's noticeable in Heart Like A Hand Grenade too
fatherotti Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Edit: I think this was actually on the original master. And was probably taken out of the CD versions during mastering. It was back in on the HD tracks release, and all vinyl releases that followed (2009+). Fun fact: It was also played as backtracking noise when the song was played at Irving in 2004. You have to listen really closely though.

Because it was there as backtracking on the live renditions in 2004. One would assume it was most likely always there right? Probably just taken out of the CD during that godawful mastering process. I'm guessing it didn't fit or the mixer was like "Well don't really need this!". This loudness warrrr! I mean it was inserted back on newer vinyl presses and of course the 24bit HD version. I like it. It adds more to song. Just that lil bit. My OP edited for opinion.
