Bevis Revis Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Does anyone know if purchasing a ticket on Stubhub is valid? Not sure how it would work if they are requiring credit card and ID upon entry. Hate paying that price but can't miss the show
Afflejack Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I think it all depends on what show you go to and what that venue has chosen. Mine is will call only, so no stub hub would be a viable option. but i also know a guy who got actual tickets to print out from a site like stub hub. its all subjective to your show and venue.
Jet Taman Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 The DC show has that rule and I've seen these ticket companies selling tickets for over $4000. Sorry. I am NOT paying that much!

spark in the night Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Call the venue and ask. It appears all the shows are forced will call based on the credit card used to purchase, so I don't see how a reseller ticket would work.
Chin for a Day Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Stub hub in general is legit. However, as others have said, call the venue to make sure.
James11693 Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I've called the venue a few times since Friday. I've gotten hung up on everytime I was on hold for 10 minutes. Every ticket on stubhub for Webster Hall says electronic delivery by October 6. I'm assuming it's not will call but I wonder if you still need the original buyers I.D. to get in? Their name could still be on the ticket
Stefano Bras Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 They're not applying the "ID/Card Holder needs to be present that day" in the London O2 date, and I got tickets from StubHub for that concert and in the past so I think it will be ok.

Their name could still be on the ticket I have Webster Hall tickets and the confirmation email says electronic delivery. However, the tickets will not be delivered until the day before the show. Also, for frame of reference, Stub Hub is not selling tickets to shows with ID/credit card tickets like in Upper Darby and Starland. I think you're OK for Webster Hall, though you won't get the tickets until last minute.

I'm gonna buy one, Hopefully they don't send me the ticket the day of or right before the show lol
ahagg15 Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Does anyone know the policy for the Boston show at House of Blues? It says its ID only but there are still tickets for sale at Stub Hub. I'm waiting for a response from the venue but I was just wondering if anyone else had insights on it. Thanks!
solongfromthestars Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Has anyone bought e-tickets from a site like Stubhub or Viagogo before? I'm considering buying for the Swedish shows from there but I'm very nervous about them being e-tickets. I don't think ID will be an issue but how do they stop sellers sending out multiple versions of the same ticket? I emailed them but they were thoroughly unhelpful they don't get the need for the ticket to scan first time when you've lined up all day for front row.
¡Nunes! Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 I've used Stubhub 3 times, for both sports and music events. Had no problem, and btw their costumer support is awesome. As I live outside US, I called them a couple times before the travel to check how "serious" they were, and I have no complains. If the ticket is not valid they help you to find similar tickets (just have to call their costumer service). In the last case they refund you 100%. Tip: ask for a "first purchase" discount and they may give you a $10 coupon The cons: price average is unreal, I paid $80 for a Rancid concert.

I emailed them but they were thoroughly unhelpful they don't get the need for the ticket to scan first time when you've lined up all day for front row. I have bought and sold from Viagogo and Ticketswap (less tickets but better prices). I'm currently completing a Masters in buying tickets "just in case" for shows nobody gives a damn about and not buying them ("it'll be fine") for shows that sell out instantly. I thought that sites such as Viagogo and Seatwave would have some security procedure so that sellers can't sell in different websites, but that doesn't happen. Basically, you can sell your ticket as many times as you want to different people in different websites (or fb, or directly in hand, etc) and nobody will know until the second/third/forth buyer goes to the gate and his/her ticket doesn't work. As a seller you are told that you can't sell your ticket in more websites, but they don't have a way of controlling that, they're just trusting sellers. So yes, multiple versions of the same ticket are indeed possible. Then those more "official" websites (linked to Ticketmaster to make more profit) have some policy to sue the seller or something, so at least that could be more secure, but even if they give you your ticket money back, they can't give you back the time and money you've spent going to Sweden. Of course, all of this would be a problem only if you're not the first person with that possible "multiple versioned" ticket to have it scanned. My advice is, if you're going to line up all day you'll be the first person to have your ticket scanned anyway, so buy it to the cheapest seller and I really don't think you'll have any problems.

Yeah, that's the thing I'm nervous about. I know the sites themselves are legit and that it's unlikely I won't get in at all, but if my ticket won't scan I'll lose my spot after lining up in the cold, and there's a small chance I'll have wasted money going to Sweden. I guess though like you said, it's also very unlikely that even if the ticket is duplicated, the others with it will be in front of me in the line. But I do have a lot of bad luck with Green Day so maybe it's not a good idea I'll see how much they are when I have money I guess and decide then.

I'm going to that show and I'm almost positive that it is ID and Credit Card entry. At least that is what it told me when I purchased the tickets.
