Erik with a K! Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 So I've had a rough couple experiences trying to buy tickets to see Green Day. I tried getting them for their House of Blues show in Cleveland before the HoF, SOLD OUT. Tried today for the Idiot Nation Presale for the club dates, sold out. Is there a secret I don't know about. I'm on the window for hours leading up to the on-sale time, and then once the clock hits zero what happens? Am I supposed to refresh, do I just wait for the page to load naturally? I don't mean to sound selfish, or give off a tone of that like, but seriously what happens when the clock hits zero, and how do I improve my chances?
Second favourite son Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 When it first tells you there are no tickets, keep trying.
Brooklyn Baby Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Sorry, I gave all my ticket-buying luck to @AlissaGoesRAWR and @Khaleesi.. Next time, I'll try to save some for the rest of GDC. I'll probably put up a sign-up sheet so that I can know who needs it.
BWitches Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Hi Erik: Resale tickets are EXTREMELY limited. Maybe a dozen or a little more, I think. the sites are overloaded and everyone is trying to get in at the same time. You have to refresh, and in my case, I even got in with asking me for quantity and then the captcha thing --and then--NO GO. Bam, back to the end of the line. Good Luck--I zeroed out
Chanderson Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I can only hope to get a ticket when they go for sale publicly on Friday. I hate pre-sales so much. The anxiety is ridiculous, haha.
Amanda Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Sex with a band member usually guarantees entry to future shows. Try to avoid the drummer, though, he's into all kinds of fucked up shit.
jengd Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Yes, feel your pain, I was hovering from 8.50 and still didn't get, will try again Friday. I better succeed, already booked hotel and flights - whoops!
MistressA Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 There are still tickets in England on pre sale but they're crap so not worth bothering about. I always find this with pre sales, especially green day pretty sales.
sara_gd Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 It depends on the website, I really can't remember because that moment is total nerves and trying to get it working anyhow haha, but I know that when there's a countdown it refreshes itself.
GenXIdiot Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 I failed too. Hopefully Friday we'll be happier.
Strychnine. Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Honestly it's a lot of luck. Usually when I'm buying tickets for stuff like this I prep a few hours in advance so I've got everything ready. A big time-saver is checking if the website you're buying tickets from has options to put a credit card in or link my paypal to it so I don't have to waste time putting that in formation in when it comes time to actually buy the tickets. That usually works for me, also having speedy fingers.

TracksAtChristieRoad Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I was at work this morning for the 9:00 presale for the toronto show. (our shop opens at 9, i told my amazing manager who i was working with * gave me the day off with short notice* what was going on) had the Ticketmaster app all set. 9:00 rolls around wasn't able to purchase off the app(was told not available on the app) loaded up a browser as quick as i could. luckily i had everything set payment wise but i was freaking out. so have a browser window open if your relying on the app. Anyone else have this problem?
spark in the night Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I simply did it and it went through. Dunno how I lucked out
James11693 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 To the people who got tickets: did you wait for the page to load after the countdown went off? Or did you refresh it before the countdown ended? I'm not really sure what the best way to do it is. Also, that image thing is ridiculous. I can't tell you how many times I got a "select image with street signs" and it didn't go through after clicking all of them.

tresexy101 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Well, I hope to get tickets for the October 1st concert at the House of Blues in Boston..... opening act 'Dog Party'. Looks like an all female group and checked out a couple songs and they seem cool. Soo anyone going to the Boston concert on Saturday, 10/1, I hope to see you there!!! If I can get tickets Friday.... grrrrr. Peace and Love, Peace AND Love.
Marina86 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 So, I was wondering: Those who had a chance to get tickets... how much are they? I really wanna go, but my friend doesn't want to sepnd too much If you could tell me how much they were, that'd be great (the price you paid for Germany would be best, but in $ should be fine too)

Teenage Lush Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 i tried on both the ticketmaster app and my laptop. on the app, it took probably 15-20 seconds before it showed the tickets as being on sale, as soon as i selected that i wanted 2 and hit search they immediately popped up, no waiting or loading. i had them purchased by 9:02 and ticketmaster was still loading on my laptop. i'm pretty sure the app is how i got tickets for the house of blues in cleveland too, i really recommend using it. don't forget to login with your email and password ahead of time and have all your credit card details saved.
Paola17 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 ^And if you don't have your card info stored on there (I mean, they do give you a few minutes to type it all in) , just make sure that you at least have it on you! At least three times last year, I was buying tix (at least two of them were presale) and forgot that I needed the security code to be able to purchase the tickets. I had left my cards in my room, so I literally dashed across campus to my room. For one of them, I definitely wasn't able to get tix (it was a small venue, about 500 people), but for the other two, it was a close call.

That security code issue happened to me for my blink-182 tickets, but those were a joke anyway, so I don't think it would've mattered if I had it on me or not. Within 30 seconds they were all bought up by scalpers trying to resell them at four times the cost on Ticketmaster resale and StubHub. I don't think people realize how lucky we are that Green Day doesn't allow resalea. It makes things SO much more affordable. But anyway, yeah, this time around I knew I'd need to enter the security code again on the app, so I had it with me, but this time in a frenzy I typed it wrong the first time. Somehow I was still able to get the tickets, but if that error would've cost me them, I wouldn't have been a happy camper.
jengd Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Nightmare getting tickets this am - ticket master is a joke - was logged in sitting waiting for tickets to go live, clicked for two, sold out, must have been a couple of seconds. Tried again and again, nothing. Yet, surprisingly they had them on getmein for twice the price! Shocking, have paid that of course, but to vivago rather than ticket master, don't start about the booking fee! But I'M GOING TO SEE GREEN DAY. Very stressed though.
Todd Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Don't give up when it says it's all out of tickets. We got ours 15 minutes after the presale started.
