Bang Bang vs Oh Love [POLL]

I thought I'd open a poll to see which song you prefer as a single, I'm suspecting Bang Bang, but we'll see...

I voted Bang Bang because I love it, it's what I want from Green Day single but I am not keen on Oh Love and was surprised it sounded so good when they did it live.  Thought it was an awful choice for a single though, and as a first single even worse, couldn't believe it at the time and I am not a Trilogy hater at all.

Bang Bang was an instant love for me! Oh Love... I thought it was an okay song, didn't really care about it.

Oh Love is Coca Cola, Bang Bang is Coca Cola Zero. They're both good Bang Bang is just missing that sugar that could make it better.

How could anyone love Oh Love? The song, the music video, poor decisions all around.

You should've added Know Your Enemy to the poll as well. I think that's the worst of the 3 most recent lead singles

I really like Bang Bang and Oh Love and I only voted Oh Love because I knew that everyone would vote Bang Bang although I think they're pretty much equal to me. A lot of people hated Oh Love as a lead single but I liked it

I wasn't around for the release of KYE but I would've assumed many people were disappointed after AI to get KYI, which imo is one of the weakest songs from 21CB. The title track would've been so much better as a lead single.

I really like "Oh Love" but not as a lead single. It doesn't really represent the triology to me. 

Nuclear Family would be my choice i think.

Bang Bang has far more energy, Oh Love is the 0 calorie version.

I like Oh Love. It's a nice song. I can sing along to it. It's catchy. But Bang Bang is just fucking awesome (IMO.) Inspired lyrics and full of energy. So, it got my vote. Oh Love is probably more radio friendly though.

And for the record, I LOVED KYE and still do. It's not as fast in tempo as BB but I adore the guitar sound in it.

Oh Love drags too much. Never should have been a lead single. While I'm sure neither will represent the best of their album of origin, Bang Bang is a much better single.

They are completely different songs and I love em both. This will obviously be turned into trilogy bashing again, and I think that was the actual intention of this thread. And that's bullshit.

If we're comparing songs, why not put all the first singles they've released and then compare them to Bang Bang (even though it's kind of pointless)?

We have Longview, Geek Stink Breath, Hitchin' A Ride, Minority, American Idiot, Know Your Enemy and Oh Love.

Oooh yeah. I can't recall how I felt then, but I never truly liked KYE. I actually don't care for 21CB as a whole, but I enjoy a few select songs. Same for trilogy.

I picked Oh Love. Bang Bang is a great song, and good choice for a first single, but it seems like the type of song that any other big punk band could write, like The Offspring or Bad Religion.

There are probably only a hand full of people in the world that can write high caliber songs with melodies like Oh Love.

if anything, oh love is the one with missing sugar. bang bang is, as its title suggests, an absolute BANGER full of energy, whereas oh love is a boring song with a watered down guitar tone.
