Definitely this. Some songs are okay, but most of them have terrible mixing of the guitars. Complete opposite extreme of the trilogy.

I think this sounds like a good thing:D

The 'complains' about the guitars being to loud kinda surprise me, as they hide weird vocal filters.. which is basically what they did on AI & 21st. And I mean, like, guitars can't be too loud.

yeah it's pretty different. Like I said a little earlier.

Imagine the pace and lyrical depth of 21st Century breakdown mixed with the filters and tone of American Idiot.

This is thrilling me.

Overall 3.5/5 / Good + atm! Great songs but the flow of the record is questionable like suspected before the release. I'd say I'm happy about this though!

"The Flow of The Record Is Questionable"

Um,...  Nimrod?

So is anyone going to hold out until it's released (like "team B" with 21st CB)? I hate the thought of not having the excitement of going to buy the CD and bringing it home for a first listen, purchasing a CD containing songs I already own will feel pointless. But if everyone else has been listening for a whole two weeks.....I don't know what to do :P

I'm holding out! There's nothing like the suspense of waiting for a Green Day record. Plus with how long they take to make new albums, I'm not going to rush the process.

Also, if they play the album front to back tomorrow, I'll hear it then :)

Uh oh! Some of the reviews don't sound very good. Now I'm worried. Guess I'll go watch the rest of the Packer game, at least they are winning!

just started listening now, somewhere now is d0pe, so far so good

Opinions are gonna be very different for this one, because the album it's so different from what anyone would expect from them and there's a lot of variety.

Probably one of Green Day's most polarizing records, if not the most.

Spoiler

Btw, DAT reprise of Somewhere Now in Forever Now was awesome.

i'm only halfway through my first listen but i'm pretty thrilled with how all the instruments sound, i like the loud guitars. tre wasn't exaggerating either about how good his drums are on this

I just don't get people being so shocked at them going in this "completely new direction" and being so surprised at them sounding unlike anything before.

Have we learned nothing people. I mean really.

well youngblood is absolutely nothing like i was expecting lol

Say Goodbye definitely sounds a lot like East Jesus Nowhere

everytime i try to download it (from other non GDC sources of course, don't want to get suspended) i keep getting those stupid spam offers. it's ridiculous. so i'll wait the couple weeks to listen.

Yeah I thought the same.

I came here before listening to the album and got a little scared. But I loved it, in my opinion it's in my top 3 records from them. About the tracks, loved Revrad, Outlaws, Still breathing, Troubled times and Ordinary world and I liked the way Somewhere now kinda connects with Forever now. Was hyped for Youngblood, it ended up being the one I don't like.

Ordinary World is so beautiful, I'm sorry for doubting you papa Billie.

I really like Say Goodbye, probably gonna be one of my favourites

Oh no...i really didnt want this album to leak. Oh well. I'm gonna do my best to wait till the 7th.

Can we all just take a second to appreciate how amazing the lyric "I put the riot in patriot" is.

I'm SO TORN. I think I'll wait until after tomorrow's concert to learn how much of the new album they perform. I'm seeing them Thursday, so obviously if they'll be playing a lot of the album I'd like to familiarize myself with it. If they're only playing the three that have been officially released, I might try some self-control, haha.

I really hope this doesn't affect chart performance. It's hard to say how many times this has been downloaded already. I'm still preordering that CD Book though

This is KILLING me. Two and a half hours till I get off work and these reviews are confusing/inconsistent as fuck.

Bouncing Off The Wall reminds me of Troublemaker for some reason
