You can leave the RevRad threads you know.

But if he does that who's gonna hear him say how much better the Trilogy is??

It doesn't have to be a battle. You don't need to try and stop people posting their love for the trilogy in this thread, and hopefully @Steven Seagull knows he shouldn't try and stop people posting their love for RevRad in RevRad threads either :)

It's obvious that trilogy had much better mastering done, don't be so butthurt guys.

Rev Rad's production, mixing, and mastering are unprofessional in comparison with the trilogy.

At least the trilogy was good at the time. Rev Rad was an instant disappointment.

To me Rev Rad sounds like a standard Green Day album, while Uno Dos Tre sounded clearer. I like both

Yeah I just do not understand the hate. Everything is just Green Day sounding to me whether it was Trilogy or rev Rad. Rev Rad I can see did what Uno Dos or tre didn't, but still they hate it. It will grow on them over time :P

They basically just boosted the shit out of the guitars with RevRad. RevRad could be better if it sounded like Trilogy. But it sounds like some amateur mastered it.

I just mean that's the extent of the differences in production I can hear. But in a general sense I also just think of everything they do as Green Day sounding haha.

Well, I'm loving RevRad but there is no question that the production on the Trilogy was pretty masterful.. As squeaky clean as a rock album can get really.

The songs on RevRad (as superb as they are) have some strange volume control you can't deny. The acoustic guitar and vocals on the opening track are way too quiet. Try listening to Ordinary World and then Somewhere Now right after.. You'll see what I mean. Also, the intro to Bang Bang is cool, but from a mixing standpoint, it sounds silly when the band kicks in. It should either be on the same volume levels, or crescendo its way up to it. There are a couple other things, like the transition from Bouncing Off The Wall to Still Breathing seems off.

I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, I love RevRad, but in terms of mixing and mastering, The Trilogy is 'undeniably' better. Rob Cavallo is one of the best producers in the world.

Yeah the transition from BOTW and SB seems strange to me too. I don't think SB belongs between BOTW and Youngblood, two upbeat songs. I think SB would fit better after Outlaws. Also, one thing that bothers me about Outlaws is at the end when the last word "roam" is just echoed until the song finishes. It sounds weird to me

I am not a fan of the trilogy as a whole, but there are some undeniable shining moments. I can't say the same about RevRad thus far.

Some of the Trilogy songs rocks live. Stay the night, Let yourself go, Oh Love and X-kid were very nice moments during the last tour.

All trilogy songs are awesome live, I said GD sucks when they don't play them.

Oh gosh, for a moment I heard a form of criticism for Trilogy from you. What in the heck was I thinking?
