That Dude Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 The new album should have sequels to both King for a Day and Boulevard of Broken Dreams. I won't say what King's sequel should be called, it's super graphic. Boulevard of Broken Dreams II

tdlyon Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Devil's Kind will not be on the album because Fred Armisen recorded the drums

BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 I heard a rumor that the Gogol Bordello member from tre's instagram photo is in one of the studio pictures as well. Does it mean anything? (I don't even know if it's true)
GenXIdiot Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 It's Billie Joe's song, he can do whatever he wants with it. If he loves it, and if he wants to make it Green Day song, then it's on the album as a Green Day song. He sang it as if he really loves it. It's such a great song to only be heard in the movie, I think it's a possibility.
Jean Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Didn't somebody who saw the movie say the song was "performed by Green Day" in the credits? They could've recorded it for the movie and had Fred pretend play in the movie like a music video.

Actually that depends if the Geezer people paid him for the songs that means Geezer owns it and Billie can't do anything with them unless he gets clearance from the Geezer people

On another note, I don't get why people want it on the new GD album, that means one less new song if they include Devils Kind. And I will say it, it is a really good song, it is not spectacular.
RedundantIdiot Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 I like Devil's Kind but I'd rather see it on a soundtrack CD than the new GD album as the song was written specifically for the film.

No unless contracts get leaked Billie has the publishing but using the song is a different story just depends on what the filmmakers and Billie agreed to (and I doubt they'd tell Billie no if he did want to use the songs on a GD album)
Sanity Loan Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 I really don't think that song is that good, especially for a Green Day album.

DannyDirnt Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Hey guys! Just hopping in to say that I've just heard Devil's Kind and I think it's pretty damn good! I hope it gets released in the next album! I'm kinda late to the party, but are there any other new songs we can hear? I've been long absent Edit: Just heard Ordinary World as well!! I love it!

I don't know if by posting this photo you implied that the instrument we could see in the previous photo was this accordion (a bit we can't see here) instead of a keyboard, but accordions have either buttons or keys, so it can't be the same instrument (as this one has buttons).
