John said on facebook that the dvd will be out by the end of the year and it will be out in the UK/outside of the US also.

I doubt they filmed any or very little of the sessions back then

I haven't payed attention to this before, I mean, it took 11 years to produce it? I thought that won't be released anyway, but now I'm excited:runaround:

It says in the article that this is the first ever time they allowed recording during studio sessions so there is no film for a documentary like dookie or insomniac unless they pull it all out of their ass

*Insert obligatory joke about pulling dookie out of their arse*

Well...

This was worse than I expected

Not even surprised since this film is 11 years too late

I wrote this on Facebook, but I'll also paste it here:

I love the "theatrical event or movie" bit. "No". LOL! Billie was asked a similar question in a radio interview, and he said something like "No, there's gonna be no book, no movie, musical, nothing like that, not over my dead body", so I asked him what made him change his mind. but he just said "We wanted to do it as soon as we were asked". Which isn't true, because they were documented multiple times being asked and they said no. I guess they just weren't asked by the right person yet. :P

Really can't wait. Wish there were more theaters playing it on the East Coast, though. I'll try to request it.

Anyways, I loved hearing the demos in the trailer. It's great to hear something completely new, yet familiar at the same time. Roecker really struck gold with the concept. No one could have foreseen what would come out of this project, and this guy had the foresight to actually document it all. An important piece, not just for Green Day fans, either.

Finally, I noticed a random clip of John Barrymore as Mr. Hyde thrown in the trailer:

It's one of my favorite horror movies; wonder why they put it there.

Hubby: "I guess I have to watch this with you"

Me: "only if you want to remain married"

I am excited.

Hubby said he'd go to the Chicago showing with me.  But I think he's being sarcastic.  :(
