ThranaM Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Billie Joe at 93rd place of "100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time", made by Rolling Stone: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/100-greatest-songwriters#billie-joe-armstrong"Back then, I just wanted to write songs I could be proud of and be able to play in five years,"Don't know if this has been posted before tho..
Chin for a Day Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 He should have been higher and how is McCartney above Lennon?
WhiteTim Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 The fact Jay Z is ranked higher than Marvin Gaye Sam Cooke and Curtis Mayfield alone invalidated the list to me
Amanda Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Lol @ lists. The Abba guys deserve to be higher than #100.
The Disappearing Boy Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 1 person disagreeing with him being on the list, 1 person agreeing with his position, 1 person saying he should be higher and 4 people writing off the list completely. Oh GDC
T.C Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 He should have been higher and how is McCartney above Lennon?Because he's better? Lennon is overrated.
Chin for a Day Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Because he's better? Lennon is overrated.I think you have that backwards.
unextraordinarygirl Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I'm with the lists are stupid crowd. They don't mean anything. It's just one person's opinion.
ZSebs Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I'm surprised that in that little blurb about Billie, they mentioned the trilogy instead of, well, any other album they have made. Don't get me wrong, I love the trilogy, but calling it a "mastery of styles throughout rock and roll history" is a bit of a stretch.

matteo263 Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 How can they leave Freddie Mercury out of the list? ...
Guest Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 How can they leave Freddie Mercury out of the list? ...Because it's a shitty Rolling Stone list that a bunch of balding 30 year old alcoholics threw together in 3 hours to justify their paycheck.
