Trainwreck Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Yeah, yeah. I know that it's really not cool to join a forums just to advertise a product. But I'm genuinely curious as to what for, if anything, I can sell the stuff I got. The Scenario: In an auction I got for 100$ a set that included American Idiot signed by all members. Signings are common and so is American Idiot so I'm not expecting much out of that. It came with drumsticks, a pick, and a drumhead all signed by Tre. As well as a certificate of authenticity and a note from their parents. I'm hoping to make some kind of a profit off of it, and you are the people that would know best. I already know that whatever I put is way too much for what it's actually worth, but eyeballing other ebay sellers I found a price range. Drumhead on ebay ranges 150-250$: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRE-COOL-OF-GREEN-DAY-SIGNED-REMO-DRUMHEAD-AMERICAN-IDIOT-PSA-DNA-COA-W24974-/191115683558?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c7f61e6e6 http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRE-COOL-GREEN-DAY-DRUMMER-SIGNED-DRUMHEAD-psa-dna-/151595435356?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item234bcac55c Drumsticks range... well they vary but 100-150$ range: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GREEN-DAY-SIGNED-DRUMSTICK-TRE-COOL-AUTOGRAPH-BILLIE-ARMSTRONG-NAMM-2015-PROOF-/221798397135?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33a436f4cf http://www.ebay.com/itm/Signed-Green-Day-Drum-Stick-/261906969467?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cfadf337b Pick seems to range 17ish$: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GREEN-DAY-Hand-Signed-Guitar-Picks-BILLIE-JOE-ARMSTRONG-PLUS-L-K-/291497456262?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item43de9a3286 Signed cd by all members... varies wildly from 250-700$: Too many examples, just search it on Ebay So, don't think I'm off base and guessing. Here's my listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Green-Day-American-Idiot-Signed-by-all-members-certified-drumhead-sticks-pick-/221807222641? Honestly, I don't expect it to get 900$ or anywhere close to there, but I do hope it's worth at least as much as the makeup of its parts. That's why the auction is set at 400$. So what do you guys think? I'm betting the first comment is going to be "lower the price". I just know it. (Sorry again for joining this forums just for this, and to be honest I probably won't touch this account after this. Please forgive me.)
Overjoyyed Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 do people buy those stuff though for that price. It's so much money... I'm a huge fan of GD but don't think all that stuff is worth that much.
Trainwreck Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 Yeah, it's a little tough to believe. But most of those Ebay links I posted were from top sellers who sell tons of Music memorabilia at that price. Go figure.
Guest Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 What you've linked are listings. I can list a signed copy of AI for a thousand dollars, doesn't mean it's going to sell. Look at completed auctions instead and get rough estimates for the value of what you have based on the ones that sold. Then take those numbers, figure out what the absolute bare minimum you'd be willing to take for the collection is, and make that your starting bid. Honestly, if you've got a COA that covers everything (not just one or two pieces), I'd let it ride at $400 and see if you get any takers rather than relisting. You're probably not too far off. If it doesn't sell, you might want to relist the items separately. Someone might have interest in a Tre Cool drumhead, but they don't want to pay an extra $250 for everything else with it.
Trainwreck Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 Hm. Okay, that makes sense. I had just assumed based on each users ebay history and rating. But technically if it's still up for listing then it hasn't sold. That's entirely reasonable. Thank you very much for the input, I really do appreciate it.
Guest Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I once sold two sets of Trilogy guitar picks that I got for free for a shit ton of money, something like $60 apiece? It was bananas. Put your items up for auction, set the minimum price for something reasonable, drum them up, and let people fight over them.

Guest Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 woah that's amazing! I was really pleased and surprised to see Green Day play a major part in financing my education
dumbell2424 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 You can search completed listings in the advanced search on ebay to see if any sell and at what prices.
