matteo263 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Hi guys, I think this is some exciting news that deserves its own thread. Apparently someone is putting up American Idiot on West End, which is probably the biggest musical market place in Europe. Amelia-Lily-to-Lead-AMERICAN-IDIOT-in-the-West-End-20010101 PS. Undómiel Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I assume it's true if broadway.com are talking about it? Excited if it is! Definitely going to try and get there for a show!
solongfromthestars Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Hope this is true! I'd definitely love to see it again.
Tubbie Head Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 If this is true I'll have yet another reason to visit London and I like that a lot.
Undómiel Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I saw it in Manchester when it was here last but we didn't have great seats. I could barely see the Will/Heather side of the stage.
Guest Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I never saw the musical last time it was here, so I'll definitely go to a couple, if not a few shows plus, gotta love any reason to visit London.
scwk0511 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 We were just talking about making a trip to London this summer..and now we have a solid reason! Didn't see it first time around, so very excited this time. Add to that Amelia Lily and you will have three very happy folks!

desertrose Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 THEATRE Green Day’s American Idiot (Arts Theatre, London, Friday to 27 September) Punk music rarely makes it to the theatre stage, but the US group Green Day’s musical, American Idiot, has its West End debut this week. Based on the band’s 2004 rock opera concept album of the same name, it’s written by frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and the director Michael Mayer, and tells of three boyhood friends seeking to find meaning in the post-9/11 world. Having premiered in Berkeley in the group’s native California, before moving on to Broadway – earning two Tony awards plus a Grammy – it plays here with the one-time X Factor contender Amelia Lily in the cast.
