Definitely gonna go in a more post-rock / electro-industrial direction. Mark my words.

Oh, shit I completely forgot that Billie Joe already did that.

Damn, you should have seen my family's reaction when my mother wanted to show my aunt and uncle who I'm going to see live. My mum had only seen snippets of Bullet in a Bible before, FOR A REASON.

I constantly hid behind the armchair, dreading Hitchin a Ride. MY TEN YEAR OLD COUSIN WAS IN THE ROOM.

And, kids, that's why you never watch Bullet in a Bible with your family.

Oh god, definitely! Had a bit of an embaressing moment when my mum walked in during the ending of St Jimmy, she wasn't best pleased. Thankfully no one came in during the Tre Cool montage

You have a cool mom :). If I don't find anybody to go with me I'll take my mum. I can always pretend I'm surprised if BJ misbehaves.

And how did your mom react to Hitchin A Ride? I'm sure mine wouldn't mind him doing it but would have a problem with my watching and liking it.

..it wasn't unpleasant. (But it would indeed be unpleasant for my rather conservative family ) It was a first time I saw a naked man and I'd prefer to have a better story to go with that though. :D

I actually did take my mom to a concert (granted it was during the trilogy era) of theirs, and I've shown her Bullet in a Bible (and AAF). My mother just laughs at it.

As for the concert, I had one ticket bought the day they were released, but then the day of the show, I found tickets in a lower section so I asked if I could buy it and then she could use the other one (she knew who Green Day was and some of their antics but she still isn't fully exposed). Either way, we didn't really sit near each other, but she did mention (and still does) that she loved the show.

(She was the one that stated that we now have to go to a Green Day show whenever they come to our city and that next time we are taking my father and younger brother.)

how could you let them! If my family ever watches a Green Day live video, then it's something as harmless as AAF or Storytellers. :D BIAB is strictly forbidden and they shell never learn about iheart.

Aged eleven I accidentally saw Billie's nudes, since then I feel obliged to spare them any unpleasant sight.

My grandma discovered YouTube right around the time iHeart Radio happened. Let's just say she wasn't exactly impressed when she scoured YouTube for Green Day videos, desperately trying to understand why I loved the band so much. Her only response was "Alissa, why do you like this man? He cusses a lot."

And I can proudly say I've never seen the nudes, but for some reason my husband has? I think he was trying to prove a point by searching for them to show me, but I refused to look? I don't even know. Everyone knows Billie's not well-endowed, I don't need to fucking see it.

I don't think anybody in my family saw iHeart, but I and my friend who kind of idolised Billie back then were so shocked and sad about it that I lost my cool and told my mum. not about the incident, but about rehab. Since then she addresses him as "that alkie of yours" "you wouldn't want him irl, would you" :D so that's it. i'm still teased despite his abstinence.

I'm taking her. It seems that going to concerts is good for her. I had two tickets for Against Me show and took her - she likes the band now, stopped being transphobic as well and fangirls with me everyday. So taking her was a smart decision. Besides I want her to know Green Day's much more than Billie's pretty face. So sure as hell she's seeing them :D

Yeah it was. And about a bazillion f-bombs.

I was desperately searching on the internet for people to come with me and I found a nice girl who had mercy on me. My mother was very offended though :D

Um, her mouth hang open. My aunt just laughed and said "NOW i know why you want to see them live". It was very embarrassing ;D

Well, I would have preferred if Billie Joe was my first. Because the first time I saw a naked man and ACCIDENTALLY :( touched a penis was when I had to work at a retirement home for a month :(:(:( I had to dress him and i accidentally said "ew", that poor man. It was probably as degrading for him as it was awkward and traumatizing for me. But they forced me to. I'm so uncomfortable with seeing naked people.

Ok, my story's not bad at all. I find very little pleasure in seeing naked people, too. So yeah, I feel you.

The photos are just funny really, it's just quite amusing to see him on stage happily pulling his pants down and grinning like a toddler trying to show off, clearly proud of what he's got regardless of size or whatever. There's a video of him doing it (from far away so you don't really see anything) when Tre's performing All By Myself. Like, he's such an exhibitionist in every sense of the word he couldn't let someone else be the centre of attention even for one song . So yeah I just see it as another one if his stage antics that's funny to see.

Miley and Billie will release a sex tape equivalent to that of Kim K and Ray J. Miley will go to the media and tell everyone that Billie made her do it. Billie will flipshit and go on a 20 tweet Twitter rampage stating that Miley's boobs were "not real", her ass was like bone, and she is, in fact, a man.

No, because she wouldn't even have waited with me for hours in the queue, because we only had a few days in London. I spent the entire Saturday in front of or in the arena and she would have said I'm crazy if I told her to spend 8 hours in the cold before being allowed inside. Also, she doesn't speak a single word of English except maybe for "thank you" and "please" and she would be helpless without me. Also, she has been to more concerts than me and I had to save up for the trip and the concert all by myself, I paid for all of it. And then I get an extra ticket and she just gets it for free while I had to wait for years to finally see my favourite band? Hell no, I don't want to grant her that. Also, it wouldn't have been the same if she came with me because I'd constantly think "oh god, my mum's watching me" and couldn't really let go, because she'd laugh at me if she saw how I acted in the pit. (That's another thing, my mum would never set foot in a pit and would probably sit down somewhere in the seats)

How do you know that?

Also, she doesn't speak a single word of English except maybe for "thank you" and "please" and she would be helpless without me.

That's why she's with you. Also, how does lack of English detract from her enjoyment of the concert?

So you're simply being petty and selfish? After all she's done for you over the years? I would have thought that you loved your mum enough to go with her. It's sad you don't have that relationship.

So in short, it makes you feel like a big person denying your mum the chance to spend some good time with you. Chances are she wouldn't even be watching you in the pit, she'd be too focused on the band. I actually feel sorry for you.

I actually have had my mother line up for certain events because I'd be school until the afternoon (only if she was able to). I love her to death for that.

I have taken her other shows as well, one of them being right in the pit.

She didn't enjoy all the movement, but she put up with it. All that mattered was that she enjoyed the music.

Because she's my mother, maybe? And I've known her for 20 years? And she said she wouldn't do it?

That's why she's with you. Also, how does lack of English detract from her enjoyment of the concert?

My sister was there too and she's better at english than me and has been to London multiple times, so she wasn't alone when she was enjoying the trip around London. People would have talked to her because from my experience Londoners are very talkative and even I was overwhelmed at first, although I've been learning English since third grade If she had problems with the ticket or security or whatever, she would be helpless. Because find someone under 60.000 people who actually speaks German to help her.

So you're simply being petty and selfish? After all she's done for you over the years? I would have thought that you loved your mum enough to go with her. It's sad you don't have that relationship.

You have no idea what my mum has done "for me" over the years, what the hell? No everyone has a super loving relationship with their parents. You know neither me nor my mum so don't talk about things you know nothing about. Stay in your lane, maybe.

So in short, it makes you feel like a big person denying your mum the chance to spend some good time with you. Chances are she wouldn't even be watching you in the pit, she'd be too focused on the band. I actually feel sorry for you.

Okay lmao thanks for the psychology excursion. Jesus, what is it with newbies trying to start shit so desperately...

You're lucky :D That's so awesome
