This is nothing new. We had four years between Warning and AI and then another 4.5 between AI and 21CB. Granted, the band still produced side projects during these respective breaks (and these side projects were a great and very fulfilling part of the band's history), but still- it's not like a few years between albums means the band is done by any stretch. I am a little concerned given where they are in their career (20+ years into the game) plus everything that is going on in their personal lives (our thoughts, wishes, and prayers are with you, Mrs. Dirnt), but I think this band deserves the benefit of the doubt. Billie is a songwriting machine and they are all still very tight. Relax and have patience. There is still more great music on the way. I would be concerned if we had been seeing a general decline in musicianship, but in my opinion much of the Trilogy represented their best material yet. They'll be back, and the music will be awesome. We just have to be patient.

Huehuehue, trying to make me feel remorseful for seeing a very reasonable grammatical error and playing on the fact that there was an error to begin with.

...I'd say cute but it isnt

I wasn't trying to make you feel remorseful. I don't get the second part of that sentence.

I'm glad you could admit it's not cute, though.

Anyways, we should probably get to the topic of this thread...

I have no idea if this was in reply to what I said, but they just recently came out with three new albums...so that's new. I'd rather have a band take four or more years to produce good music than rush and come out with something of poor quality.

I do agree with the last parts of your statement, though. :D

I completely agree. People will always recognize someone/something mainstream for it's/his/her most popular thing. Like I said before, how people will always relate Daniel Radcliffe to Harry Potter because that was his most popular role and what he's well known for. Green Day is best known for American Idiot and I don't think people should base everything they do off of that. They have other things to offer and other things they'd like to put out there.

Huehuehue, trying to make someone look stupid over an honest and reasonable spelling mistake...cute. The point made was still valid.

I didn't actually notice the error haha so I didn't understand what Deadpool was going on about, but thanks for defending me!

I've actually become obsessed with Slipknot and their new album since the Green Day camp has been so quite lately. I need to go to the "other bands" section and retract my earlier criticism of The Gray Chapter. When I first got it I hated it. Now I love the whole darn thing. Anyway, Green Day will return and will probably be great. What we need in lieu of a new Green Day album is a side project. I'm STILL rooting for Rodeo Queens (Green Day + Jesse Malin), although a new Network album would be great, as would a brand new project to perhaps test out new waters for Green Day.
