Fuzz Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 More info about this whole thing: http://www.greendayauthority.com/news/4907/ Here's the video And Tre's photo he shared on Instagram for #peacerocks
Spike Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Tre Cool Fixed. This is interesting. Maybe Tre will give him some drumming lessons.
Todd Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Is Tre even a good drummer? I have no drum experience, and I barely pay attention to the drums in songs, so I have no idea
Spike Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Is Tre even a good drummer? I have no drum experience, and I barely pay attention to the drums in songs, so I have no idea He's pretty decent. Not exactly flashy but he's very tight, and infinitely better than Ringo.
Guest Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Is Tre even a good drummer? I have no drum experience, and I barely pay attention to the drums in songs, so I have no idea He's comfortably above average, and definitely amongst the best in the "punk" genre. He's miles better than Ringo in any case.
lizziebix Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Being a huge Beatles fan I still always wondered why Ringo was considered such a good drummer. He didn't really seem to do anything special - except keep good time. But I love the video and all those that joined in. #peacerocks
Spike Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Being a huge Beatles fan I still always wondered why Ringo was considered such a good drummer. By who?
Spike Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 1960's reviews. Ah, before all the good drummers were born
lizziebix Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Ah, before all the good drummers were born And before he could be compared to them.
Guest Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Ah, before all the good drummers were born Bonham, Baker, Mitchell, and Moon beg to differ
lizziebix Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Bonham, Baker, Mitchell, and Moon beg to differ You're half right. Two were born before Ringo and two after.
Guest Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 You're half right. Two were born before Ringo and two after. My point was that they're all from the same generation of drummers as Ringo and they're all far superior
Cath Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Being a huge Beatles fan I still always wondered why Ringo was considered such a good drummer. He didn't really seem to do anything special - except keep good time. because he's in ''the beatles'' and most people think the beatles are god because it's cool to love them. i love them a lot too actually just trying to answer your question
lizziebix Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 My point was that they're all from the same generation of drummers as Ringo and they're all far superior Gotcha. Point taken and agree. because he's in ''the beatles'' and most people think the beatles are god because it's cool to love them. i love them a lot too actually just trying to answer your question I agree with this too. It's like just because he was a Beatle he was considered outstanding.
ollhjr Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I thought the hashtag at the end of the video said #PEACECOCKS. Carry on with your Ringo debate.
Spike Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Bonham, Baker, Mitchell, and Moon beg to differ None of them are Travis Barker though are they?
Sauli Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Lol Ringo is awesome. Though his drummin is nothing special the whole thing is kinda cool And Beatles honestly even were not very good at their instruments. Harrison was average, Lennon was passable, McCartney was maybe the only instrumentally bloody talented Beatle. So despite the fact that i love them, trying to make them seen like Shakespeares of their instruments is simply wrong and misleading. Thats the damned myth built by the press, that they were absolutely faultless. Gods. Unsurpassable in every field. And thats disgustin
Heather. Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I get this whole discussion and agree, but do we at all value Tre's opinion that Ringo is underrated and an amazing drummer? He has said it on multiple occassions that people don't respect Ringo's skills enough.
Neutral Milk Hotel Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Come on, Ringo has his moments. He was a leftie playing on a right handed kit, and plus he kept the beat well enough for the a band from the 60s (Not including Moon here). - This is pretty impressive for Ringo. Anyway, cool to see all these drummers (And fucking Steven Tyler ) in one place.
Guest Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 He was a leftie playing on a right handed kit This is a lot more common than most people think. Most leftie drummers learn on rightie kits and just never bother changing.
Spike Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 This is a lot more common than most people think. Most leftie drummers learn on rightie kits and just never bother changing. Yep, and it's no excuse for not being very good.
Davis Weiss Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Is Tre even a good drummer? I have no drum experience, and I barely pay attention to the drums in songs, so I have no idea Having played drums for 11 years now I can say with some confidence that Tre is a good drummer. A lot of people have given him the "ok drummer" title but I have seen Tre play lots of different styles (some better than others) and he is a very well rounded drummer for sure.
Guest Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Yep, and it's no excuse for not being very good. Tré is right handed but leads with his left, which is completely ass backwards, and he's twice the drummer Starr is. Having played drums for 11 years now I can say with some confidence that Tre is a good drummer. A lot of people have given him the "ok drummer" title but I have seen Tre play lots of different styles (some better than others) and he is a very well rounded drummer for sure. He can play a lot of styles well but he's very lazy when it comes to rhythms. He's gotten a lot lazier over the past 5 years or so in general, really.
