Fuzz Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 We've compiled a list/videos of Green Day's appearances through-out the years on Late Show with David Letterman. Go look at the performances and enjoy a large swath of Green Day's career. I really hope they go back one more time before he retires. http://www.greendayauthority.com/news/4871/
TommyGun Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 they should definitely be on that show one more time at least those performances are absolutely brilliant
Invention Convention Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Do you think Green Day will ever be on Letterman again?
jakdokinori Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I really hope they appear on Letterman one last time before he retires.
TommyGun Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Do you think Green Day will ever be on Letterman again? why not ? they weren't there to present the trilogy so it's time again but actually, i also can't see them there now
Funky Kong Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Unless they release a new studio album while Letterman is still on his show I doubt they make an appearance sadly. The trilogy would be too old to support with a television appearance. But in a way I hope they can come on one last time defiantly some great past performances.
Hermione Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I miss the "bad boys" Green Day before the AI They weren't really "bad boys", more just a bit mischievous. They might not get into quite as much mischief now but they still do their fair share of it! Random example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTRKl5yphpk I'm sure if they went on Letterman again Tre would think of something silly to do
theviridiansea Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 It would be cool if they went on the show one last time and played "Basket Case." Kind of end things full circle.
DarrenDookie Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 7 out of the 10 videos are from my youtube channel, makes me feel like I should start uploading videos again
Jaded in Chicago Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Haha these are great. From 1994 - 2001 they don't change much, they just age a little bit, lose the hair dye and get a tiny bit rounder. Then in 2004 they are the 'new' Green Day. Then in 2009 BJ at the height of the emo look. Tre and Letterman's reactions to Tre's antics are brilliant, especially 'are you alright son?'
Spike Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 You'd think Letterman would have learnt the drummer's name by 2009.
Todd Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Let's get a thread for all 5 times Green Day's played Reading Fest 7 out of the 10 videos are from my youtube channel, makes me feel like I should start uploading videos again You could always upload them directly to our downloads section too

Heather. Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Cool to see how they basically went on Letterman twice for every album, at the beginning of its release and to keep it alive a few months later. Except for the last 5 years. Hmmmm.

Z J Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 The difference between Minority/waiting and American Idiot is astounding. In the Warning era videos he's out of shape and sounds strained. AI he's a whole new man and they're a whole new band. That image change really helped AI I think. The larger than life persona is never more present than on that BOBD video
Sauli Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Time Of Your Life performance took my breath away. I mean it was so brave thing to do. For an outfit that's known for playing punk, it was the most radical thing to do. Only acoustic guitar and strings. Very punk. Plus it's just a beautiful song. I don't feel ashamed to admit it.
