Akshat Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Contestants from The Voice(UK) sing Good Riddance in their vocal battle and one of them just, idk, fucked it up. Don't know if its been posted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fi2EGPyBe2s
Steven Seagull Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I think that was really good. Why would they "fucked it up". The smaller girl had such a sweet voice.
Cath Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 it's been disscussed here few weeks ago they're both really good
green day is Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 How did the one that played piano even get on TV? That was ew. Are there any other videos of the one that played the harp singing? She was wonderful.
Sarcasm Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I didn't like this version at all, thought it was horrible and the style didn't fit the song at all. The Green Day twitter tweeted it a few days ago, so I guess someone got impressed or felt obligated to act like they were. How did the one that played piano even get on TV? That was ew. Are there any other videos of the one that played the harp singing? She was wonderful.just watch the show, all the episodes are up on pirate bay. The US version has some cool stuff this year too.
Sanity Loan Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I wouldn't say they "fucked it up," it is just very different. The audience "fucked it up" however, as some were clapping on 1 and 3, rather than 2 and 4.
desertrose Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Not bad. I liked the girl who played the harp. Sweet voice. Another version of Good Riddance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5k00tnnWjA Off topic- Here is BOBD
Spike Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Pretty sure I posted a thread about this the night it was on, but I can't find it now. I thought Jess was awesome (the one with the hair), and you're all just fucking racist against Yorkshire accents. Anna was pretty good too, kind of inconsistent, but yeah. They both got through anyway, then were both eliminated before the live shows.
tubbyfox Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Godawful. Had to make myself listen to it for at least a minute to give it the benefit of the doubt and couldn't believe the dreamy, approving looks of the judges listening to that screeching. How to murder a song.
beejeezee Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Pretty good, well different. But not my cup of tea.
Mykee Mexx Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I´m not allowed to see every vid, but... well... yes... They do their best... some in a very special way. But... Green Day´s version is Green Day´s version... I prefer their´s to any of the attempts shown here.

Akshat Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 I'm also pretty sure that Good Riddance is the only Green Day song any Voice contestant from any country has heard, or know of. They could cover Wake Me Up, 21 guns, and a lot of their 90s songs, NOT ONLY good riddance

Akshat Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 That just shows how great the song is and how awesome Nimrod is. True. But WMUWSE and 21 Guns are great songs too. And I thought they have a significant mainstream presence so maybe somebody would sing them, or some other famous Green Day song. But we hardly see that :/
green day is Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 WMUWSE and 21 Guns also require a certain vocal range that maybe the contestants aren't comfortable working with under the sort of pressure you get on a talent show. Wake Me Up only spans an octave.
beejeezee Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I'd prefer not to hear WMUSE on a talent show, it's not an average radio hit. It has meaning.
