The Disappearing Boy Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 This thing had better get posted on YouTube!
PleasedToMeetMe Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I hate when people hate on cassettes. When I was younger I didn't have a CD player, so when I listened to Green Day it was either 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, Kerplunk or Dookie on cassette. Very, very fond memories of those tapes. The last Green Day cassette I bought was Warning so I am fucking stoked to get this.
Gwen Stacy Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I hate when people hate on cassettes. I hate it when people hate people hating on cassettes.
Heather. Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I have no reason to dislike cassettes. I listened to plenty as a kid. But now the only formats I can physically play music on are my CD drive or digital. If I had a cassette player, or a record player, it'd be different. I do think cassettes are inferior in the sense that they are smaller so you don't get the fun sleeve of vinyl or the cool full booklet of CD. You get the folded up wrinkly jam packed packaging on a cassette. That was always less satisfying to me.
Annie, get your gun Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I was thinking that I completely forgot about Brutal Love being included too. How could I? And how could them not include it?
Stefano Bras Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I was thinking that I completely forgot about Brutal Love being included too. How could I? And how could them not include it? As I said many times before, maybe it wasnt a choice.. Maybe they didn't have a Brutal Love demo at all..
DannyDirnt Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I actually never thought about that... Yeah, maybe if the sell Demolicious on Japan too.. Remember they always put bonus tracks on Japana because they are expensive there.. Maybe Dreamcatcher? or another Demo? Still hoping for Kill the DJ demo!
LinziLetterbomb Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 This thing had better get posted on YouTube! yeah I hope so too! We never get anything here in the UK! haha
Malleus Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 This thing had better get posted on YouTube! I don't know man, Green Day albums are pretty rare and hard to find online. Don't think you'll have much luck
Stefano Bras Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I don't know man, Green Day albums are pretty rare and hard to find online. Don't think you'll have much luck Are you kidding? The trilogy was leaked one week before the release date... Its not 'rare' o 'hard' to find online Green Day Records.. Demolicious can be hard to find online because is an exclusive release for the Record Store Day not because its hard to find Green Day albums online... yeah I hope so too! We never get anything here in the UK! haha C'mon girl... I would love to live in the UK. Green Day go there A LOT.. Green Day has come to Venezuela just one time.
Karl Karlson Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Are you kidding? The trilogy was leaked one week before the release date... Its not 'rare' o 'hard' to find online Green Day Records.. Dude, ever heard of sarcasm?
Stefano Bras Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Dude, ever heard of sarcasm? It wasn't so clear, man
The Disappearing Boy Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I don't know man, Green Day albums are pretty rare and hard to find online. Don't think you'll have much luck I know. If only Green Day were a world famous rock band.
georgielikesgreenday Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 YESSSSS!!!! Omg I'm not gonna shut up about this for weeks.
Alan86 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I know. If only Green Day were a world famous rock band. One day they'll get there
Annie, get your gun Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 As I said many times before, maybe it wasnt a choice.. Maybe they didn't have a Brutal Love demo at all.. Yeah, I thought about it too, that maybe they didn't have a demo of it or something like that. It's just that is such a beautiful, it would have been nice to hear something different like an acoustic or piano version...
WhiteTim Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Maybe they seletected the demos based off how different they are from the finished songs Maybe the demos of Brutal Love isnt that much different
Malleus Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 It wasn't so clear, man How on Earth could I have made it any clearer haha? And it being an exclusive doesn't mean it's going to be hard to find online, it might be hard to get a copy of it for yourself but you can bet it's going to be all over the internet.
TwoWatches Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I don't know if I'm still considered the "old man fan", but... I recall my days of taping songs off the radio by cassette, making the perfect mixtape, putting on the little sticky paper labels on the cassettes and decorating them, then designing the little liner fold-ins for the plastic cases to play in my walkman. Fast-forwarding, rewinding. When the tape got unwound, a lot of people used pens -- I was still little so I used my pinky. When I was finally able to burn CDs, my first car still didn't have a CD player in the dash so I had to have that analog-digital tape-shaped adapter linked up to my discman. Ah those were the days. That said, I never want to touch with a cassette again. If anyone wants my walkman for free, hit me up. I'll even throw in a pen.
