Blasphemy & Genocide: Unpopular Green Day Opinions, Part 2

Unfortunately it's not up to us to qualify him as part of the band or not :P. I'm curious why you don't like him though, I mean he just does his job on stage. He has a bit of a harsh/dry sense of humour but to an extent so do the other guys.

I like jeff matika. I love his caustic sense of humor and I love how approachable and accessible he is.

I think I watched one interview with Jeff and Billie, so I'm not sure why people dislike him so much. It's not the first time I heard it.

Roshambo is acutally the only Network-song I like because it sounds so much like Green Day. The other stuff just isn't my thing.

I also like Supermodel Robots. Spike cracks me up and the Teenagers from Mars cover is awesome.

Spike is my favorite song from The Network. I love the way Billie says La Jolla

Am I the only one who thinks their new Rev Rad tattoos could've been better? Maybe I'm biased because my friend has one that's way more detailed but I was surprised at how simple they went with the design. This isn't a dig at the artist, I think some of his other work looks amazing.

Nah I thought they looked pretty cruddy too.

Guys it was a party and spazbo must have tattooed a dozen people in one night. A good detailed tattoo takes hours. They can always add color and detail later if they want to.

Good point. I guess my view is why even bother if it's not going to look great? If I'm gonna put ink on my body I want it to look as amazing as possible. But then again, Billie just loves tattoos. To each their own

I'm forever jealous that my husband got his name in a (sort-of) Green Day song. :P

Not necessarily. My friend said his took 30 minutes. Doesn't have to be insane amounts of detail to be good. Granted, that adds up quick if you tattoo half the party, though I can't imagine EVERYONE wanted one. I only saw the three guys, Tre's wife and her father I think? At least from what was on Instagram. I mean, I don't know what the standard is in a situation like this but when you're doing the same thing over and over like that, would've probably made sense to bring another artist from his shop to do anyone beyond the main three guys. If it was just an issue of missing shading or color I'd agree that can be saved for later, but I think the drawing itself looks like it was done in about five seconds by someone who spent less than that looking at the album art.

I agree. If I'm going to make this permanent why rush it? Especially when the guys have some really decent art now so it looks weird not living up to the quality of the rest. At least in Billie's case. I didn't see placement of Mike's and Tre's is kind of away from the bulk of his other ink.

I like that it's simple and not colorful. I don't really like the album art and I think it would look kitschy as a tattoo.

I think for them the whole point of their tattoos is that they've never thought them through very much. They range from the simple and stupid to the colorful and complex. I don't think they care. Now I'm getting my first one soon and I agree I picked the artist carefully, designed it myself and I'm taking my time and want it done right. But a lot of theirs were homemade or impulsive or drunk for years until they got some of the more professional looking ones later. But I'm more of a planner and I'm guessing they're not.

It's a cute idea, either way, to think they enjoyed the tour so much that they wanted to remember it with some ink.
