Yeah, the first step has been taken successfully. You master the peculiar ways his wit travels. Next step is to post seventy-two posts like that every day, and sooner than you can notice, you are an admin.

So that's how you become admin? :woot:

Thank you for your guidance

I always looked at the line like the "liar" is looking for forgiveness in the wrong places, and looking for forgiveness that he's not going to get anywhere.

Yeah I took it that way too, but the line just words it really badly!

I always took the 'stone' to be a headstone, asking for forgiveness too late from someone they'd lost. Never given it any thought as to how that might fit with the rest of the lyrics mind...

That actually makes it so much better! :D

still doesn't explain what the liar is doing there and what he's asking forgiveness for, but at least it removes some of the randomness of "stone".

The completely out-of-character snarkiness in this took me aback.

You know my swag, not my story.

Seriously though, I wasn't trying to be rude or anything.

And you were doing so well, Adam.

What?

Tom has started his tyranny and you will be his first victim.

Yeah but lying about what, why he's asking forgiveness, why it's relevant to mention in the first place, etc. :P

Maybe that's for the listener to decide :P

I always thought that by using the word stone he meant an altar, or so. But probably it has an equivocal meaning.

Unless he's trying to apologise to a pebble he kidnapped in an attempt to raise it into a mountain.

He could be using "stone" as a refrence to The Rock. Billie is looking for forgiveness from Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson as he lied to him about dieting or something.?

Amazing

He's apologising because he couldn't smell what The Rock was cooking.

Dammit why didn't I think of that? Could not think of a good analogy there at all! Why didn't I "Just Bring It" to the table?!

You can tell The Rock is pissed with them because he didn't show up on RAW once while Know Your Enemy was the theme tune.

I've always thought it to be a reference to religion. Like, he's looking for forgiveness from God, praying in front of a statue or whatever. Not the best phrased lyric of Billie's to be honest.

Care to elaborate?

"Kerplunk is their second best album."

Response: Wow that's a laughably bad opinion.
