Holiday isn't the weakest song on AI by a long shot (Extraordinary Girl, anyone?). If AI didn't exist and only Holiday did, I'd say it was one of their best songs. But, within the context of the album, there's something about the song that is a minor let-down to me and I can't figure out what it is.

Yeah, Extraordinary Girl, has good chorus, but nothing else. Rest of the song is boring.

I just skimmed and the impression I got was that someone, somewhere thought that Holiday was the weakest song on AI

but yeah it really wasn't fair to Holiday to be put right after JOS.

I think the musical version of Extraordinary Girl is wayyy better then the original. I love the middle part so much.

To me half of Kerplunk is amazingly great and the other half is just meh. So no, it can't really compete with Dookie. Dookie is the greatest GD album. From the first to the last track it's just pure eargasm.

The part that follows the solo totally kills the momentum of the song. That repeating bass line gets boring after 5 seconds and you're left waiting when the song will continue.

The part that follows the solo totally kills the momentum of the song. That repeating bass line gets boring after 5 seconds and you're left waiting when the song will continue.

The lyrics during that section are among the best he's written, although I'll admit the breakdown does slow the song down a bit. However I think the breakdown is fantastic live with the call and response style.

The 2009 tour when they did actual explosions for the gunshots during the breakdown was the best use of pyro I've seen at a gig.

I don't really see how the bass solo ruins it. It doesn't kill the momentum, it adds dynamic contrast.

Anyway, I'd put Extraordinary Girl, St Jimmy and WMUWSE in the bottom three, and other than She's A Rebel I don't see how anything could go in fourth apart from Holiday.

Full disclosure: I think Whatsername is genius, the subtle rise in key is great and the vocal is awesome. It's more of a bottom 3 for me then Whatsername, AI, WMUWSE, and Letterbomb are tied
