But I see where that comes wrong...the original can be thought as boring, and a bit too simplistic, but to me that only makes it more brilliant. It is so uncompromising. But, the versions have so different approaches and arragements, not to mention the times they were released, so to me it makes no sense to compare them. Quote

It is too underdone as a song to really show oof all of its potential. And that is what Green Day did with their cover. While the original hits me still harder on a pure emotional level, the cover is musically more interesting. Thats the way to do covers anyway to make them feell like they were your own songs while still preserving the main elements that made the song special in the first place. 2 Quote

Most musical versions of the songs are too different to accurately compare them to the originals, but with 21 Guns I'd definitely say the musical version is better. also what key combo makes your post post? Seeing the Foxies do it made me like it even more, I thought it'd be the last song so I made a conscious effort to absorb and remember every moment of it to the best of my ability, now I just have to listen to that song to take me back to being at that show so it's, like, an amazing experience to listen to it. 1 Quote

DookieLukie Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 That Rock and Roll Circus version was playing on the hospital TV when my grandmother was passing. Not during the death but during the time we spent in the hospital. That and a Rolling Stones performance. So A Quick One has a huge emotional tie to myself. It's also one of my favorite songs of all time. Quote
