I love Last Night On Earth. It's a fairly standard love song but I really don't think the lyrics are cheesy. They're just open, honest and simple. There's a difference.

The worst on breakdown for me has to be either Christian's Inferno or Horseshoes and Handgrenades. Last Night on Earth isn't too bad, but the lyrics are horribly cheesy.

I quite like Horseshoes and Handgrenades. I think the song just goes along drearily (not sure if that's a word) and doesn't seem to go anywhere for me.

In all seriousness, while the lyrics are undeniably simple to the point of charming naivete, the melody and the overall sweet slow-dance atmosphere save it.

I like both of them very much. LOTAG is better live (the few times they played it). Murder City is epic though.

I've never understood it when people say that. To me it's one of their most by-the-numbers, boring songs pre-Trilogy.

It has a major to minor harmony shift over the E power chord before dropping to B, therefore it's musical genius.

LNOE is definitely cheesy. But I guess I do kinda like it, so I don't have any problem with it. Having it as a first dance song is disgustingly romantic and beautiful and I love it!

My two least faves are LOTAG/Murder City.

But to me cliché doesn't necessarily make anything bad as long as its used in the right, or maybe honest, way. There's a reason things have become cliché and that's cause they work. Much unlike The Forgotten.
