Z J Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I don't know what to tell you besides I just disagree with you. I feel like the trilogy is 37 classic GD tunes, I connect to the lyrics, and I feel that Mike's signature basslines are more present here than the three previous albums. The harmonies are different, and while I prefer Mike's harmonies, I think Billie does a fine job with them. I have no major issues with the production, at times it could be better but it doesn't detract from the music, and on certain songs I think the production and clean guitar tone really work. That's it. My signature will now present the wonderful and relatable lyrical work that is all of the trilogy. Nightlife is class GD? Sex Drugs and Violence? A little Boy Named Train? Obviously we'll have to agree to disagree if those songs are "classic" GD songs. Quote

To be fair, Sex Drugs and Violence was superb in Demolicious. 2 Quote
Z J Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 To be fair, Sex Drugs and Violence was superb in Demolicious. The verses are fine but the chorus has to be the worst they've ever done. That reminds me. 3 Quote
Spike Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 The verses are fine but the chorus has to be the worst they've ever done. That reminds me. Even worse than Christian's Inferno? Hmm. Quote
Gwen Stacy Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Even worse than Christian's Inferno? Hmm. Christian's Inferno's chorus doesn't make me literally cringe. It's just there. 1 Quote

It's one thing that anyone likes it at all, but you? I think I need to sit down. I just love the transition from ultra-filtered verses to thumping chorus with natural vocals, and...I don't know, it just sounds ineffably cool to me. *shrugs* 2 Quote

It just seems like such a waste. You could use those three minutes and seven seconds to listen to Rest. And it'd feel like 10 minutes, so it's a better use of your time. Quote
