This thread has almost single-handedly ruined 70 percent of what I liked or was indifferent about on the Trilogy tbh

Then our sacrifice has not been in vain. :P

You've never listened to the perfection of Insomniac or American Idiot then? :P

She's A Rebel Extraordinary Girl Tight Wad Hill Westbound Sogn aren't that great lyrically at least to me...

I agree that they're the weakest songs on their respective albums, but I don't think there's anything wrong with them per se. Especially with She's A Rebel and Extraordinary Girl, they're nothing amazing in themselves but in the context of the story they work really well and do just what they need to.

On a side note, it kinda blows my mind that this thread is already at 65 pages. How strange that the Unpopular Opinions thread is the most popular GD-related thread on this site. :P

I didn't say they were bad songs just that they aren't lyrical greatness

Well most people are pessimists so it makes sense.

The threads still exist. Go do some Sherlocking :sherlock:

When it first came out and a bunch of new people came on the site. (Granted, I was still pretty new too.) I got lectured about how Occupy was the movement of our generation or some shit and was fighting for disadvantaged people, etc. I can't remember for the life of me who said it.

I'm willing to bet their name started with a "j" and ended with an "n".

Westbound Sign is brilliant. Silence.

exactly I mean "is it Salvation? Or an escape from discontent? Will she find her name in the Californian cement" cmon

I actually used to like the Trilogy, back in the day.

Oh, I was a young naive thing back then *wistfully stares off into the distance in reminiscence...*

I got yelled at in a thread for saying Occupy was lame, but 99 Revolutions like 2 years later was even lamer than that. That's back when everyone was all "TRILOGGGY IS EPIC!!!"

I would never have yelled at you for that

I don't think so...

I'm the top poster in this thread but if you look I actually post a lot about what I love too :P

But yeah. I must insist on being a pessimist, etc.

Well yeah see, even some of the regulars in this thread post loads of positive stuff. I don't think this thread having lots of posts particularly indicates pessimism when it's only a small number of people making most of the posts and a lot of them aren't even negative.

I see this thread as a great place to amiably argue over pretty much nothing with my fellow fans

It's a wonderful place, you can continually disagree with each other but everyone keeps playing nice!

Most of the time. :P We kick out the ones who don't. :P

Lyrics.

I don't think the lyrics are too bad. There are so many terribly worded lines in the trilogy that are worse than Carpe Diem, I mean, that line from Fell For you is terrible, just a new breed of bad: "I woke up in a pool of sweat. At first I thought that I pissed the bed".

Definitely not me. I though the Occupy movement was a catastrophic mess.

I love that line!
