Iva Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 That is MIGHTY. Love what they did to make the song less naughty and, at the same time, more serious. Will be looking out to the other songs in their series, as they'll be posting one per week throughout the year.
Hermione Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 This is so entertaining! Love how they totally made it their own, and it's funny how well the song lends itself to this style . Shows what an awesomely quirky song it is. i never heard this before, is a lounge- jazz version of long view posted today : http://the1994project.tumblr.com/post/75595414138/track-5-longview-green-day I've split this into its own topic because it's so fabulous!
Mykee Mexx Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Hahahahaha! Usually I don´t like jazz that much, but the idea of "translating" the song into swinging jazz is just freaking awesome! It´s funny, playful, fresh, surprising, I love it!
The Disappearing Boy Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 'Smell like something bad' Oh my god. Pretty decent.
Anaïs. Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 That bass line really was just begging to be in a jazz arrangement. In the same vein:
inthehallwaynow Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 id like it if they used the original lyrics
Sanity Loan Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Sounds like a mix of Richard Cheese and The Doors
Mykee Mexx Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Bossa Nova style.... uuuuuh... that´s hot... *swingswingswing*...
spark in the night Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Well a ring a ding ding. That was smooooooth. Need more jazz though
Spike Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 This is pretty cool. If you like this you should enjoy the great Richard Cheese's version. He's got about a thousand albums out doing rock covers in that style. He's also done American Idiot but I can't find a link, I might upload it myself later.

And that reminds me, Green Day have already done lounge jazz Basket Case themselves http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj7GsiFIPxs This is pretty cool. They all just sound weak in comparison to that
The Disappearing Boy Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I can't believe I've not seen all these amazing cover versions before!
