Jon Herroon Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I know good riddance was released as a b-side, but where/how did the dookie version of 409 surface?
Guest Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I know good riddance was released as a b-side, but whAlsoere/how did the dookie version of 409 surface? It was a b-side to Basket Case.
Jon Herroon Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 It was a b-side to Basket Case. Okay, and the demos?
StuckWithInsomnia Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Wasn't Good Riddance from the Insomniac sessions?
fatherotti Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Wasn't Good Riddance from the Insomniac sessions? I think Good Riddance actually dates back to the Kerplunk days. At least that's what I've always heard lol. Just like Longview was around about 2 years before Dookie actually came out. Too bad that taper never shared his Cattle Club video :/. It'd be cool to have the first gig of the Dookie tour.
Todd Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Wasn't Good Riddance from the Insomniac sessions? Yeah, it was recorded during Insomniac, not Dookie. No idea why Liam put that in there. He's high on meds
Liam Posted February 1, 2014 Author Posted February 1, 2014 Yeah, it was recorded during Insomniac, not Dookie. No idea why Liam put that in there. He's high on meds It seems plausible it was actually recorded during the Dookie sessions because they talk about wanting to put it on Dookie but Rob didn't want them. They just didn't release it till the Insomnia era.

aahhhh Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Did the uncensored version of Jaded in Chicago ever surface?
Todd Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Did the uncensored version of Jaded in Chicago ever surface? I think the live tracks from the singles are uncensored
DookieLukie Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Considering they waited 3 albums to release Good Riddance, I wonder what songs Green Day has in storage that they are waiting to use.
Insomniac1984 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I think the live tracks from the singles are uncensored BUT, those tracks were taken from Jannus Landing in Florida 1994. BTW, almost all of the tracks from that concert were released for EP and singles.
Todd Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 BUT, those tracks were taken from Jannus Landing in Florida 1994. BTW, almost all of the tracks from that concert were released for EP and singles. The When I Come Around singles had Chicago tracks, Coming Clean and 2000 LYA are two I can name off the top of my head Considering they waited 3 albums to release Good Riddance, I wonder what songs Green Day has in storage that they are waiting to use. Rob didn't want it on Dookie, an it obviously had NO place on Insomniac, so they put it out as a b-side after two albums, and then decided to re-record it for Nimrod. It's understandable why they waited so long though. Can't wait to someday hear Wonderful, sounds like that was another song that is just waiting for an album where it will fit.

What's that?
Todd Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Wonderful? What's that? A song from the 21st CB sessions that was too good for the album
WhiteTim Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 A song from the 21st CB sessions that was too good for the album But has that song been mentioned by the band? Only person I've seen mentioned it was Butch and Butch has a history of naming songs that do not exsist...

Todd Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 But has that song been mentioned by the band? Only person I've seen mentioned it was Butch and Butch has a history of naming songs that do not exsist... They played it at a soundcheck 2009-07-22 Mellon Arena, Pittsburgh, PA, along with Drama Queen and others. Too good for the album? What does that even mean? Idk. Someone post the Butch quote please. Pretty sure there's a thread about the song somewhere

I forgot that single. The songs were Coming Clean and She (Billie's "high speech" was cut though) btw. Did you say Green Day played "wonderful" in a soundcheck, really???
