And Graffitia and Stab you in the Heart and Junkies on a High. To be honest I like the whole album. My least favorite song is the title track, of all things... 6 Quote

But I think the lyrics are a bit cringe… The cringy lyrics are actually why I kind of like it. Gotta embrace the cringe sometimes hahah. Other than that I really like Oh Yeah, Junkies On A High and Grafittia. Might not be their best but it's still a fun album. 3 1 Quote

Mollyluna Posted Saturday at 06:54 AM Posted Saturday at 06:54 AM Today I woke up with the song Dream Catcher in my head!😊 It’s not that surprising, listened to it twice on YT yesterday before going to bed: First one is AI. I hate AI but in this case I can accept it. It’s such a beautiful song, I‘d die for an official release. I think I even dreamt about it. Isn’t it fitting, I had Dream Catcher in my dreams…. 3 1 Quote

sergiewoo Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago What i find a little silly is that i liked 1039/sosh, insomniac, 21cb, uno, dos, foxboro hottubs, the longshot, the network, revrad, and kerplunk, before even getting into american idiot in the slightest. like i listened to literally everything BUT american idiot until i heard st jimmy... 3 Quote

Your not silly. You GD journey started only recently. You have such a variety of records to choose from the band's vast discography which is cool. From studio albums, compilations, live albums, and many side projects. You get to decide which record to listen to next. Nothing can be more exciting. Enjoy. 6 Quote

Definitely not the most genius Green Day lyrics, but still 😅 On 1/30/2026 at 9:43 AM, Callmegameface said: am i the only one who kinda liked "oh yeah!" ?? Nope, also love it. Okay so my favorites from that album are: Father of all Oh Yeah I Was a Teenage Teenager Junkies on High Take the Money and Crawl I like Graffitia too, but it feels too normal for this album... like I can perfectly imagine it being in Rev Rad, but in FOAM it feels kind of out of place 😅 I think I actually really like this album, but it's definitely not in the first 5 albums I'd use to introduce someone to Green Day... and now I have to listen to it 😁 7 Quote

You get to decide which record to listen to next. Nothing can be more exciting. Enjoy. You're right. But don't worry, i didn't mean "oh thats silly, you CANT do that" silly, just "oh that's kinda funny" silly But it is true. There's a lot of stuff to look at since i've only started so recently. I found it a bit overwhelming at first and just listened to whatever i found. If you're interested at all, it kinda went like this: "Oh hey, green day has a cool side project! I like side projects. Watch foxboro hottubs live, and "oh look, what's fuck time?" And that happens to be age restricted. Oh, it's on dos! I love nightlife. Oh, billie has a movie he stars in? I love the longshot and ordinary world now. Oh, look, they have another side project! I love the network." And be aware i listened to st jimmy a day before watching that movie too. It just didn't stick. The problem is that i had nothing to connect american idiot to. I love movies and side projects. But where's american idiot? On youtube. Like, just sitting on youtube on a hundred billion different not-really-special to watch green day concerts (unless you were there). I had nothing special to connect american idiot to, and that's what made listening to everything else fun. You could say "c&v!" But what am i connecting c&v to? It's populariy? Influence? I definitely wasn't born for the release either. But i was able to connect to other parts of green day just fine because they were parts of more media i was familiar with... It wasn't really that i was choosing anything but american idiot, it was that i would choose american idiot if it weren't for the lack of connection. There's a movie i watched that had holiday in it. If i watched it any earlier i'd love american idiot much faster. Anyways, i love dos. End of story. I'm enjoying n that's all that matters. 6 1 Quote
Gwen Stacy Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Then to give American Idiot its props, I decided to try to learn Give Me Novacaine on guitar today. I always thought it was a very good song but I appreciate it much more now. Deceptively simple, yet powerful. The melody is so so beautiful. Never in a million years would I pull that gorgeous intro out of just a few chords. Playing music has deepened my connection to (especially) Green Day’s songs in a way that I really didn’t think was possible. A bright spot in dark times. 3 Quote
