That really changes but right now most of Kerplunk. As mentioned sometime ago, I‘m listening to the Green Dudes podcast and at the moment I‘m in their Kerplunk section…

As yes, the Green Dudes.  I still listen to those guys quite a bit - and got mentioned in one of their shows. I shouted them out in the comments section of the youtube video of the song they were going to be covering, and sure enough they saw it.   I don't remember what song it was, but yeah.  I'm in there somewhere.

I like the Green Dudes podcasts but just never seem to have time to listen, they are quite long.

You could skip the first fifteen to twenty minutes. That’s usually some personal banter, funny but not concerning the song. AND I often listen to them while doing some boring housework. Makes this work much more enjoyable!

Highly encourage this for anyone who doesn't want to listen to our insane ramblings lol. Maybe I'll start adding timestamps to the episode descriptions.

They speak slowly too so to help me focus I listen on 1.5x speed and that also saves time, it makes the episodes shorter.

Thanks for that. 1.5x is well better.

It's restored my sanity. lol.

They are very good though. Currently listening to Stuck With Me.

These GD podcasts are also available on Amazon Music.

yknow i genuinely wonder at this point how well C&V would sell if we get it as a "fuck it release" sometime in the coming months

I couldn’t agree more @Dingle and the importance of those Radio 1 shows at the time really was huge for music fans.  John Peel and Steve Lamacq were such influential figures!  The BBC have put out way too few programmes with performances from their vaults and I have yet to see Green Day.  I couldn’t believe it when GD were missing from the one they aired when they closed the old television studios.

The Connors!  Every time they say "the only Green Day podcast that matters" I wonder whatever happened to Chris and Brady Denton with their Redundant Podcast.     And just a heads up, I was in the top 1% of Green Day listeners this month and I'm 99% sure I'm going to listen to so much Green Day that Billie's going to move into my house.   Alls I'm saying.

My dream is for a band to release an official live show/film of a concert I attended. Seeing as Wrigley is Billie's favorite stadium Green Day could definitely do it for Saviors...😏

Today I'm 15 years away since the very first time I saw Green Day. Time flies

I'll wager you've loved every minute. And have many memories you will treasure for ever.

Actually I didn't have the best time bc I lost my ID and my money in the show, and I had to come back to Chile the next day. I lost the Chile 2010 show for that. I had to overstay in Argentina 3 more days. But I learned a lot. Life gives another chance, but you have to seek for it.

I loved the show anyway, even if I ruined everything. I was devastated, then they played Coming Clean and all my problems went away. At least for an hour. That's how much love gives the music of Green Day

The public perception of Green Day has swung back and forth.

three good albums / one bad / one good / one bad / two good / three bad / one good / one bad / one good

There hasn't been a run of three well received albums since the first three.   Will they release something much-maligned like Trilogy or Father of All again after Saviors?   Or can they keep the momentum going with the next two albums that keep the fans happy AND the creative juices flowing?

If we only count the trilogy as one bad era it would be 3 good/1 bad/1 good / 1 bad / 2 good / 1 bad / 1 good / 1 bad / 1 good.

Of course, most of us on here love all the eras.

I have a theory on the relationship between Jesus of Suburbia/ St. Jimmy and Whatsername. So as we know that Jesus of Suburbia is known as his alter personality St. Jimmy is in a relationship with Whatsername, so as we know that they break up with Whatsernames letter AKA Letterbomb.  So in Homecoming St. Jimmy dies and goes back to Jesus of Suburbia. In the song Whatsername is Jesus thinking of Whatsername cause that's one of the only things he remembers from his time as St. Jimmy.

I need y'all's opinion on this

Tut, tut @That Dude you can't use the word bad in association with GD being bad, it's just not allowed.

As Mike famously said:

"Listening to Green Day is like sex. When it's good, it's really good. When it's bad, it's still pretty dam good".  😜

That's public perception.  I love every note of every song they've ever done.  Even their worst song "Haushinka" is pretty good.    And as for their worst aspects as a band, maybe their album covers could use some work but yeah.    They're the perfect band.

I know you've had a long standing dislike of "Haushinka" and I must respect that, but imho it's awesome.

In @That Dude‘s defence (we have had this discussion for a while now) he’s not saying it’s bad, it’s his least favourite.  Fair enough I think.  I think it’s awesome but think Amy is just bad. We all have our opinions.😁
