solongfromthestars Posted September 6 Posted September 6 People have been complaining that Billie only refers to Palestine in Jesus of Suburbia in countries where it won't go down badly, but I was just listening to the version from Lyon and he sang 'from Ukraine to Gaza.' Didn't even notice it in person so others probably didn't either, but yeah, I'm glad he actually did that in France. 4 Quote
pacejunkie punk Posted September 6 Posted September 6 It would be really cool if WMUWSE hits a billion Spotify streams in September. It’s at 925,467,070 now. 3 1 Quote
That Dude Posted September 7 Posted September 7 We've talked alot about the songs that reach a billion streams or are close to it. But think about the albums that contain those songs - American Idiot has three of these songs. Dookie, Insomniac and Nimrod all have one song around a billion. And before we discuss the rest, yes - they are massively successful. Just nowhere near BILLIONS. Minority is near 100 Million. 21 Guns is 700 Million. Oh Love 60 Million. Stray Heart 50 Million. The Forgotten 20 Million. Still Breathing 125 Million. Father of All and Dilemma both around 40 Million. 2 Quote

Daily WMUWSE listening parties this month? 15 hours ago, That Dude said: The Forgotten 20 Million. I did not see this coming. I dislike that song so much that when I came back to Green Day land and revisited the Trilogy, I had absolutely forgotten that song existed. The only song out of their whole discography for which that happened (so the name might be quite fitting 😅) 3 1 Quote

Above Jade, Let Yourself Go, East Jesus Nowhere, Bobby Sox - even above Geek Stink Breath. I guess being on the sparkly vampire soundtrack got it a big bump. 1 Quote

I forgot it is in Twilight lol Team Edward, by the way. (i will give you a million reasons why I am team Edward if you tell me your team jacob) 1 Quote
That Dude Posted September 9 Posted September 9 Um. AFI have become The Networkesque. I think they might be The Network. Quote
nowshesgone Posted September 10 Posted September 10 happy "would have been a show today" show isnt sports fun!!! i love it when a band that has a venue planned months ahead has to get their show canceled because the stadium they were playing in gets selected for football!!! 1 2 Quote

twentyphanday Posted September 10 Posted September 10 (edited) I really wonder if green day is ever going to release some sort of anniversary compilation album for the trilogy… i know demolicious is a thing but that was just 20% of the songs in the trilogy with the inclusion of an unreleased demo (state of shock). As far as i can remember, billie did say that they wrote around 70 songs for the albums, so i really hope they one day release them… 🥹 I’m absolutely in love with them!!! (Would be even greater if it happened and billie played the songs on tour using that iconic glittery silver guitar he used around that era.. her name was xtina right?) Edited September 10 by twentyphanday misspelled something oopsie 1 1 Quote

nowshesgone Posted September 11 Posted September 11 NGL they should release Stray Heart and I Want To Be Alone on a 7" as a joke towards the fact that they got excluded from their albums vinyl releases 1 Quote
That Dude Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Supposed Green Day album over the years: Cigarettes and Valentines, 1972, Songs For A-Holes, Coffee and Repent, The March of the Dogs and Magnum Opus of the Inglorious Kind. C&G led to American Idiot. 1972 led to Saviors. A-Holes became, what Father of All? Coffee and March were likely fiction, but were precursors to Breakdown maybe. and Magnum Opus was another band altogether....or WAS it? Quote
Robbie1039 Posted September 16 Posted September 16 After listening to most of Saviors today, I can hear a lot of Oasis influence in Father To A Son. Makes sense since they said they had Oasis in mind when they chose which studios to record in. 2 1 Quote
jengd Posted September 16 Posted September 16 I sincerely hope not Oasis, I think they said Britpop. 1 Quote
Popular Post Cris. Posted Sunday at 08:14 PM Popular Post Posted Sunday at 08:14 PM Really hard to believe it's been 21 years since American Idiot 🥹 That album will never stop blowing my mind, and I'm forever grateful that I was to lucky to have "found" it when it in my teens, that I got to see it played live in its entirety. Also, 1 year and 10 days since the last time I sawed it played live and at the same time I feel sad knowing I will probably never experience that again 🥺 2 3 Quote
That Dude Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I'm in a nuerodiverent group on Facebook, and I saw a post about Green Day. Someone was panicked, losing their child at a recent Green Day show. And while they were looking, they realized their kid was up on stage with the band having a blast and totally safe! I don't know if the kid sang or played guitar but that was a pretty cool post to see elsewhere. Pictures of Billie hugging their kid and a total happy accident. 2 Quote

I remember driving my ancient VW on release day to pick it up from the record shop - it doesn't seem like a quarter of a lifetime ago. 1 1 Quote
