Am I the only one who thinks that this whole Wonderwall “incident“ is being blown massively out of proportion? BJ laughed it off, Liam wrote a silly tweet about it, that’s it. Now I’m seeing all these posts that turn it into a something big, which it really wasn’t. Why do we have to take everything so damn seriously, and why do people get angry about literally everything? 😅

I have seen german news coverage about it from news sites who dont even post about music/shows in general, so even mainstream media got the attention, sick xD

It's definitely got a lot of traction online over the last few days, although I didn't see LG had posted something as Twitter is a cesspit. Expected response from him TBF.

I saw the theory on Reddit that the guy couldn't play Good Riddance so tried to play Boulevard, inadvertently playing Wonderwall instead since the two are so similar.

I hope this isn't true. I prefer the idea of this kid trolling one of the biggest bands in the world at their own show with the greatest "so anyway, here's Wonderwall" ever.

BJA laughed.  Everyone has fun. The kid becomes an internet hero for 15 minutes. Who cares?

the kid got interviewed today at one of the bigger german radio stations

he said he knew that he was not able to play good riddance because he didnt know all of the songs guitar chords, so he stopped his attempt to play good riddance because he didnt want to embarrass himself. he then wanted to play a song that everyone knows and "loves", so he started wonderwall

Not the brightest bulb in the box is he?  And ofc why would he volunteer to be picked if he knew he couldn't play the song and also didn't want to embarrass himself?

I’m sorry, he may have got caught up in the excitement but it strikes me that he’s an arrogant little shit to behave like that.

Folks getting annoyed about this should get off the internet for a bit.

I wish Green Day could have been involved with the insane Ozzy/Sabbath show yesterday.  Yungblud was repping the Punk side of things so that was nice.

lol, yes, 14 year old did something without thinking it through, lol, I don't wanna live in a world where we don't allow teens to get away with harmless, stupid things. I actually thought later that maybe the guy had a complete brain fart and forgot how to play Good Riddance as soon as he got up there so just played a song he knew, I have extreme anxiety and can see this being something that would happen to me, lol

the very last show of the saviors tour will be at the end of september in california, in a theater

do you think its possible they choose this location to record a proper live album? because the acoustic/sound must be very good in a theater this big

The sound might be good, but not the crowd consisting of casino players.
If you have a look at the Wembley 2024 thread you will find a link posted today that shows that Wembley was recorded professionally. So this might get to be the live album…

i still cant really enjoy the BIAB recordings because of the *constant* screaming of some girls haha :D

and i know about the wembley show, maybe they will use several shows like they did with Awesome As Fuck, i fully expect them to release something in their upcoming "break"

Yeees, but I guess the band will want to have some crowd interaction nevertheless.

Right, I think and hope there will be something after the Saviors tour is finished.

im guessing the following things are gonna happen during the break

Live album (dookie and AI live+ some other regulars, maybe 1 or 2 Deepcuts pulled out+LNOE from Fireaid)
Warning, 21CB, Lookout (1000 Hours-Kerplunk) and maybe Insomniac/Shenanigans Boxsets
New Years Rev including Soundtrack
Longshot?

Today I was in the kitchen listening to FOAM (because I quite like it from time to time) when my husband came home and said „What’s wrong with you now? No Green Day?“🤣
