Update: she was apparently on one basket case pressing. not entirely sure, especially because I own the 1995 european reissue with the jannus landing 1994 tracks.

Random thought: Green Day should be playing the Super Bowl this year and it’s ridiculous that it seems like they’ve never been asked. This would be the perfect time for them to do it and they’d put on such an excellent show. It’s been years since they tapped a good rock band for the halftime show.

Holy shit. Concert Archives just reminded me that four years ago, on this day, I saw Green Day in St. Louis for the All Star Game pre-show. So funny how it lines up with the Saviors release!!

I absolutely love that Billie changes the lyrics in American Idiot to whatever is in his heart, and that's a part of what makes their live shows, and their music, so engaging and wonderful. I also love that Billie pissed off so many far rights and Trumpers, as well as assholes like Elon Musk, during the RNYE show.

On the one hand, that's beyond hilarious and excellent publicity for the new record and Green Day in general. So proud of them! On the other hand, it does make me every so slightly worried about the boys. I know they have security and stuff, but the group of people they riled up are living in a completely different reality and there's no way to know what they might do on a whim if given the chance.

It's a real sign of the times that I find this to be a legitimately possible risk to their safety. That's how it be with mass shootings, particularly in schools, are an every day occurrence. It's just horrific. Gotta love 'Murica! Luckily, it seems as though everyone has moved on from that lyric swap, but who knows.

100% agree. I love it when he does that, it's like he's putting the songs into a time machine to make them more relevant than ever (back to the future, haha). Then it suddenly feels like he wrote them yesterday. This also reminds me of the 2022 Berlin show (and I think he did it at other shows on that tour too) where he changed the lyrics to Wake Me Up When September ends and sang "Like my father's come to pass 40 years has gone so fast". It broke me because I had just lost my fathers a few months ago, and I realized: The pain will never cease, no matter if it's 1 or 20 or 40 years ago

I think Billie changing the lyrics to songs just shows how timeless his lyrics are.  It’s seldom he writes something that feels dated.  I know there are some references that date parts of some songs, but overall they still feel relevant.

This era has been giving me so much life. Usually around now with the shitty weather and the lack of holidays, my SAD kicks in bad. But Green Day has given me something to look forward to and we keep getting blessed with new pictures and interviews from this era. It's so nice. On top of that, I've been having so much fun on the thread. I'm always lurking on GDC, but the surge of activity had been keeping me sane, especially at work. Whenever I need a break from angry emails or managing someone's calendar, I just come to GDC for more Saviors discourse. And it's a nice change of pace. The forum was so divided on FOAM and seeing the barrage of negative opinions kind of brought everything down. It's been so nice reading everyone's thoughts on the album and just the general excitement that's in the air. The boys are truly back.

I agree.  I lurked here for a while but only joined in 2013, just desperate for news but after (obviously) the Trilogy was released so been here for Revrad which got an Ok reception but not really much more if I remember rightly and then FOA which I like but am clearly in the minority so yes, it’s lovely hear so many fans giving the band love and loving the new record.

This scares me too. The Republican Party now is much more radical and violent than in 2004 and as proud as I am that he’s not afraid to say it, it does freak me out.
