georgespeorges Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 (edited) EDIT: Sorry, I just realized I posted in the wrong place š Ā Hey guys, I just joined, and wanted to ask a question. I think this is the best place to ask (Iāve searched on google and couldnāt find an answer) but does anyone know what guitar BillieĀ gives away on stage when they play Knowledge? It looks to me like an Epiphone Les Paul Special I, but Iām not sure. Thanks! Edited January 19, 2018 by georgespeorges Posted in wrong place Quote
The Bellie Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 The beginningĀ of Forever Now, fromĀ a live version that I put on my phone, is what wakes me up in the morning; it's quite efficient. So yesterday as usual I woke up immediately with the first riffsĀ and then I heard "My name is Billie and I'm freaking hot".Ā 1 Quote

And Mike's facial expression is priceless hereĀ I mean... so many people - completely unaffected by each other - have told me that he does. I don't really think he does, but for some reason A LOT of people do.Ā Quote

But when you compare the individual facial features on their own they do . The mouths in particular. Yet there still isn't an overall similarity. It's a weird one. Quote

They also have kind of similar ears, which I know sounds weird. ^^' Quote

pouty bitch Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 I was listening to GD on shuffle today, and it amazes me how one GD song can change your mood entirely. Like, I was feeling pretty pissed off and wound up, so I put GD on, and the first song was On The Wagon - it's just so chilled and it made me relax instantly. Then Bang Bang came on straight afterwards, and it made me feel angry and pissed off all over again. Dominated Love Slave came on afterwards, and that just made me laugh. Finally, Knowledge came on, and that made me feel all dancey. 2 Quote

I'm sure they know them by heart, but that's just such a tough situation. At one of my shows last year I was in the second row and Billie stopped right in front of me when he was looking for someone to pull onstage for Longview. And I stretched, waved and nodded frantically, but my mind went completely blank. He didn't choose me in the end, but if he did, I'm not sure I would have remembered the lyrics by the time I got on stage. Getting up there must feel like you're looking right into the face of God. Honestly, same. I'd always wanted to sing Longview, not Know Your Enemy, but when I got onstage for KYE I was really, really glad it wasn't Longview. I know I'd either have forgotten the words or done something else embarrassing. I don't think it was even Billie I was intimidated by, it was knowing I was in front of thousands of people, and that this thing I'd dreamed of was finally happening and I had to do it right. I managed to fall over even in that short time, so... Ā 3 Quote
AmyxLongview Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 I listened to all of Nimrod yesterday and all of Warning today for the first time in a few months. Really enjoyed them. There's something refreshing about going back and listening to the pre-AI albums and watching liveĀ videos. Times were simplerĀ 4 Quote

pouty bitch Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 Dirnt is such a good word. (I know it's not a real word, but idk what to call it because it's not a real name either.) It just sounds so good. Dirnt. It even looks cool when it's written down. I think it might beĀ my favourite word atm. 2 Quote

I read somewhere (hope it's not somewhere on GDC, I would look kinda stupid ; it might be from a Youtube comment) that Mike Dirnt is the kind of a name you would give to a cop if you're arrested for something. A name that inspires confidence, because it's simple but not exactly common. I kinda agree with this statement,  and also that it sounds nice, even though for French people it's not really an easy word to pronounce. French would prefer to spell "Tre Cool" since in French it literally means "very cool" (very in English = très in French, which is spelled "tré"). 1 Quote

The Bellie Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 I am currently obsessed with this video, especially that first "still": There is another video on Youtube of the same performanceĀ (at Fiddlers Green, Denver, 9 August), which has practically all the views (with a great zoom on Billie), butĀ this one is much better for the sound, we can perfectly hear Billie. The first time I heard that "still" it penetrated my bodyĀ Ā 2 Quote
RedundantIdiot Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 It annoys me when I see that GD's individual profile pictures on Wikipedia are all from 2013Ā 1 Quote
Spike Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 I know it's not news that Corey Taylor is a Green Day fan but I still can't get over how much the bridge of this song sounds like Green Day. Starts at around 3:25. Ā Quote
Hermione Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 That does sound like them, kind of weird in the middle of a song that doesn't particularly. I don't know if it's specifically influenced by them as the different elements of it aren't really unique to them so it could be more of a coincidenceĀ but knowing he's a fan then maybe. Also I love that video Ā 1 Quote
